Donald Trump is a bigger frontrunner to be the Republican nominee than you think
Washington Post ^ | 2-18-16 | Chris Cillizza

Why isn't Trump getting the credit and coverage he deserves? Because, at root, there is still a belief within the party establishment and the ranks of the media that he will somehow implode or voters will "wise up" or "get real" or something.

I seriously doubt Trump will choose any of the other R candidates, especially Kasich, who has nothing to recommend him at all. Nor Scott Walker, who vilified Trump when he dropped out.

IMHO retired military. I hope Allen West.

"Finally, folks, it would not surprise me to see 'my-dad-was-a-mailman Kasich' become Trump's veep."

It will be him, or Scott Walker, for all the reasons you mention...mid west...working class...preserve Social Security etc.

First of all, LS my FRiend? EXCELLENT insights, a premiere post and thanks for it. And Mariner?

Can you IMAGINE the angst it would cause for our beloved Cincinatus Wife if Trump chose Scott Walker as his VP running mate!?!?

Oh BWHAHAHAA!!!!

I would pay good money to watch that show!

(CW - all in good fun! ;)

Mark Cuban not long ago said he doesn’t support Trump.

I just said above, I think retired military. Maybe not West, maybe a retired general.

Thanks very much for sending Reagan’s 1980 schedule to Mr. Trump's campaign. I know you sent a copy to me and to all of us, IIRC.

To the best of my knowledge, (via my own personal experience) information deemed worthy is either forwarded directly to Mr. Trump or to his sons. .

As for Kasich, I had also considered him, but he's almost a polar opposite of Donald Trump's on his premiere issue, illegal immigration and Mexico paying for the wall, not to mention Trump's strong position regarding Moslems.

I think for the same reasons you attribute to Kasich, (help winning OH, PA, MI, WI, and NJ) Trump was counting on (Catholic) Governor Christie to make a much better showing.

Right now, I think Trump is looking at Rubio for his VP to help with the Latino, youth and Catholic vote.

P.S. Yes, Donald Trump knows about FR. He said to me quote, "FR does good work."
That's one reason why I'm so disgusted to see all of the hateful posts about him by peeps who have never met him, although I'm all but certain, Donald Trump likely doesn't have the time to personally read FR right now. Thank God.

I can’t wait to see the look on the Faux Snooze talking heads on election night in November when Trump wins in a landslide. Charles the Kraut may not survive.

Wait until you see their faces when Trump is announced as the president-elect. Hide the razor blades. Megyn Smelly will be leaving by the back door.

“Right now, I think Trump is looking at Rubio for his VP to help with the Latino, youth and Catholic vote.”

I hope not! Rubio is pro-amnesty and establishment, just what Trump has been running against.

If he picks someone like that, I will have to question if he has been playing us like all the politicians have.

DONALD J. TRUMP

Chairman and President, The Trump Organization

Donald J. Trump is the very definition of the American success story, continually setting the standards of excellence while expanding his interests in real estate, sports, and entertainment. He is the archetypal businessman -– a deal maker without peer.

Mr. Trump started his business career in an office he shared with his father in Sheepshead Bay, Brooklyn, New York. He worked with his father for five years, where they were busy making deals together. Mr. Trump has been quoted as saying, “’My father was my mentor, and I learned a tremendous amount about every aspect of the construction industry from him.”’ Likewise, Fred C. Trump often stated that “’some of my best deals were made by my son, Donald...everything he touches seems to turn to gold.”’ Mr. Trump then entered the very different world of Manhattan real estate.

In New York City and around the world, the Trump signature is synonymous with the most prestigious of addresses.

Among them are the world-renowned Fifth Avenue skyscraper, Trump Tower, and the luxury residential buildings, Trump Parc, Trump Palace, Trump Plaza, 610 Park Avenue, The Trump World Tower (the tallest building on the East Side of Manhattan), and Trump Park Avenue.

Mr. Trump was also responsible for the designation and construction of the Jacob Javits Convention Center on land controlled by him, known as the West 34th Street Railroad Yards, and the total exterior restoration of the Grand Central Terminal as part of his conversion of the neighboring Commodore Hotel into the Grand Hyatt Hotel. The development is considered one of the most successful restorations in the City and earned Mr. Trump an award from ManhattanÂ’’s Community Board Five for the ‘“tasteful and creative recycling of a distinguished hotel.’

” Over the years, Mr. Trump has owned and sold many great buildings in New York including the Plaza Hotel (which he renovated and brought back to its original grandeur, as heralded by the New York Times Magazine), the St. Moritz Hotel (three times and now called the Ritz Carlton on Central Park South) and until 2002, the land under the Empire State Building (which allowed the land and lease to be merged together for the first time in over 50 years).

"Cruz can't afford it"?

Cruz will end up being the best funded Republican candidate in history. Look at his Superpacs. And their numbers are from the very beginning. He has a blank check from Goldman Sachs and Citicorp (that we know of; no telling what others have not been reported to the FEC.) Same with Big Oil. Same with Club For Growth-types who demand open borders, secretly negotiated trade deals and millions more work visas. Cruz's donors are a who's-who of globalists. And he's a TWO-FER, like Bill and Hil. Ted and Heidi are the Bill and Hil of the 21st century. The Donor Class and Lobbyists will own the White House. And Reince and Ted aren't dumb; they won't sell that influence cheap. TPP alone will make so many people and nations rake in $ in the trillions it's unimaginable. TPA will ensure more TPPs.

I didn’t mean “afford” in the monetary sense. Look at the graph. Trump could afford to take the dip he did at the end. Cruz’s line takes the same dip, but it plunges him down to Rubio’s numbers. He really can’t afford that.

I accept a lot of this, but the Bill and Hill part needs some clarification.

Ted and Heidi are not crooks. Bill and Hill were clearly part of the Dixie Mafia. Too many people dropping dead like flies leave no doubt there was some kind of gangland activity supporting the Clintons.

This is not present around the Cruzes. I may not like Ted, and I do understand Heidi’s connections to CFR et all, so I’m not hoodwinked by the two, but we need to be clear about how the Cruzes are like the Clintons.

They are on the premise that they support some of the globalist’s desires.

That I’ll buy into. The rest, no.

Trump spells the end to the cheap labor express and open immigration, the end to Muslims/Syrians/Somalians coming in by the hundreds of thousands; the end to Mexicans by the Millions, and soon the end to Indians by the millions with uncapped H1B visas as part of amnesty and TPP.

That's why there's so much money on the line, more than any previous presidential election. The 700 billion dollar TARP will be eclipsed several fold with more bail-ins, secret trade deals, the export of US jobs and duty-free import of goods from every other nation in the world (while US exports still face stiff, prohibitive tariffs, barring us from competing in this "free trade.")

Study Robert Pastor and Heidi Cruz's mentor Robert Zoellrick (Pres, World Bank, Goldman Sachs, along with Heidi and so many others who are in the revolving door between the Washington Political Class and Goldman Sachs.

This election is between the 1% Government Class Elite and the USA Patriots.
