Donald Trump remains at the top of the reduced six-man GOP field - but there has been some movement as candidates have dropped out.
One of the beneficiaries in the latest Economist/YouGov Poll is Ohio Governor John Kasich, who has doubled his support among likely Republican primary voters from where it was before the New Hampshire primary. Kasich now has more support than former Florida Governor Jeb Bush and neurosurgeon Ben Carson. Carson was at or near the top in support in some earlier polls.
But Kasich has a long way to go. The top three candidates remain the same. Trump is selected by more Republican voters than either Texas Senator Ted Cruz or Florida Senator Marco Rubio. More than half (52%) name Trump as their first or second choice for the nomination (Cruz is named by 41% as first or second, Rubio by 35%).

Can’t be right. There were 80 posts yesterday on FR saying that Cruz is up 2 pts over Trump.
Trump poll ping.
This poll is completely fake. The only accurate poll is the one from NBC/WSJ yesterday that showed Cruz winning.
I know, let’s compare the internals of this poll to the one yesterday that showed Cruz in the lead.
Oh, we can’t. The other poll didn’t publish it’s internals, except to say it polled a grand total of 400 people nationwide. A 400 sample is typical for a single state, 1,100 to 1,500 is typical for nationwide polling.
Well, how about that.
“Ohio Governor John Kasich”
Will somebody please explain to me how this mope is getting any traction ?
Next do the same with the Latino Eddie Haskell.
I posted all the polls yesterday and there was only ONE poll that wasn’t in line with the other 5 polls, and that’s the one the cruz lovers (Jim Jones #2 Kool-Aid drinkers) are following....
I watched Trump with Morning Joe and Mika last night...he was really good, and I enjoyed all of his rallies yesterday and looking forward to more today...
Still reading the new book out: “Jeb and the Bush Crime Family” very interesting how our media hides things just like with the “War on Women” book that was just printed...
Amazing how many crooked, liars, thieves, back stabbers, sex offenders, drug dealers are in our government...
80? I don’t think the number was that small
But, but what about the CBS/Wallstreet Journal poll? :-)
Carson ahead of Bush
For his first two years here he was good economically-—got the budget under control. Then he got on his “expand Medicare” program. I don’t know where his support is.
Kasich is a good talker.
And he got lucky in Ohio,
because fracking was successful in Ohio.
So he can boast about Ohio progress.
He is for 100% Amnesty to illegals,
including citizenship.
He is the weakest on immigration issues.
That poll was national, not South Carolina.
First, there is no national primary.
Second, the poll is a huge outlier with all other polls.
NBC/WSJ = extreme liberal/cheap labor express.
Oh my. Trump is crushing all of them.
If Trump wins South Carolina (which seems highly likely) on Saturday and then Nevada on Tuesday (which also seems highly likely), is it really possible for the other candidates to win the nomination? I keep asking myself that.
The only poll which matters now for South Carolina, is the election result on Saturday.
Those polls are all fake, too.
Fake or not, the election result is all that matters.
