Bush’s backers in South Carolina complain Donald Trump has dragged him into the mud.

Jeb Bush supporters think their presidential candidate has been thrown off his optimistic tone by the rancorous bullying of Donald Trump.

And they're telling him that to his face.

During a midday campaign stop at a country club here Wednesday, Bush was confronted at least three times by seemingly benevolent backers who critiqued his message and offered candid advice about how to right the course.

"I'm afraid that your message doesn't resonate to the national community," said Edward Scott, a Maryland resident who was traveling in the Palmetto State for work and supports Bush.

The complaints, delivered during a question-and-answer session on an outdoor patio overlooking a plush golf course

No, his message of making the USA into North Mexico is not resonating.

Are they surprised?

Trump is totally in Cruz’s head, which was the objective. Had him wasting time yesterday responding with Rovian charts about past Trump donors and off-message during critical days before SC primary. He’s playing Cruz like a fiddle.

Are they surprised?

Yes. And that's the whole problem.

The backers have it backward, as it were.

We, the voters, are pissed off and Trump’s anger resonates with us. Jeb’s “congenial, go along to get along, never show actual anger politician” may have been acceptable in previous cycles. It’s not now.

Jeb Bush might have done better to have ignored D. Trump. Unlikely he would have won over Trump’s supporters. However, he would have done much better attacking Robot Rubio the Empty Suit. Their supporters overlap, and his add about the dancing boots was catchy, one of the few I remember.

Trump is interfering with his opponents OODA cycle. It's a military strategy but you can see it at play in the way Trump campiagns and throws his opponents off center. By the time they waste time responding he has already moved on.

If Trump is in Jeb’s head, he’s got to be bored silly.

The constant use of the word “bullying” only reinforces the magnitude of JEB’s metrosexuality.

America is tired of metro/homo effeminate leaders.

Jeb’s head is a good place to kick back and do a little reading. Nice and quiet.

So, he is down to publicly quarreling with the precious few real people who will still go to meet and support him.

There is something almost Shakespearean or Biblical about the reduction of the Heir Apparent in this campaign.

Actually, I don’t think there’s anything in Bush’ head. He’s totally clueless and has been since the start.

If he can’t handle Trump, wait until the democrats and the entire media complex has a go at him. He’ll be catatonic in the fetal position by the end of August.

That's a good point.

Trump's antics are NOTHING compared to what the media and the Dems (but I repeat myself) will throw at the Republican winner.
