Ted Cruz has inched ahead of Donald Trump in a new national poll released Wednesday.
The Texas senator has the backing of 28% of Republican voters nationwide, unseating Trump, who won the support of 26% in the latest NBC News/Wall Street Journal poll. But Cruz's 2-point edge is within the poll's margin of error.
Florida Sen. Marco Rubio comes in third with 17% support, followed by Ohio Gov. John Kasich at 11%, Ben Carson at 10% and former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush in last place with 4%.
The results are a major change from last month's NBC News/Wall Street Journal poll, when Trump held a 13-point lead over Cruz, 33% to 20%.
The latest survey was conducted by Republican pollster Bill McInturff and Democratic pollster Peter Hart after Saturday's GOP debate in South Carolina....

I know. That’s why I shared it :)
Skewed demographic poll - Wall Street Journal only polled “very conservative” people.
Thank you!
Even Oscar Meyer thinks it smells ;)
Yes, yes, there’s ALWAYS a conspiracy if Don Trump is behind in a poll...
Fly-in-the-ointment disclaimer from your article:
“But Cruz’s 2-point edge is within the poll’s margin of error, and it’s not clear if the survey captures real movement in the race or is simply an outlier.”
This poll appears to be pure BS. See for yourselves.

“I call BS on this one. If that is the case, then Cruz should win on Saturday, no?’
Not necessarily.
A lot of Hillary supporters want Trump to be the one to run against Hillary and not Cruz.
Those are also the same polls that have been showing Trump in the lead for the Republican Nomination...
SO... are these exact same polls trash like you say?
TRUMP UP BIG IN NV:
Republican presidential front-runner Donald Trump holds a commanding lead in the partyâs Feb. 23 Nevada caucuses, according to a CNN/ORC poll released on Wednesday.
Trump has 45 percent support, followed by 19 percent who said they are backing Sen. Marco Rubio (R-Fla.), 17 percent who are backing Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Texas) and 7 percent who are backing retired neurosurgeon Ben Carson.
Ohio Gov. John Kasich (R) comes in fifth, with 5 percent support, followed by former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush, with 1 percent support.
Forty-one percent of caucusgoers say they are still deciding who they will support in the race.
Trump is up in the poll by 7 points since October, while Rubio gained 12 points and Cruz 13.
