A few months ago I wrote that Donald Trump was probably going to withdraw before the Iowa caucuses rather than face the embarrassment of defeat. Wrong. He did lose Iowa, seemed momentarily humbled, but then quickly reverted to form by asserting that he really won. He went on to a landslide victory in New Hampshire and now leads in South Carolina.
While much of the political world speculates that Trump may be creating a new kind of candidacy largely immune to normal attacks, let me make another assertion (that may prove as wrong as the previous): Donald Trump should be easy to defeat. What makes him not a ânormalâ candidate actually makes him more vulnerable rather than stronger. Let me explain.
In a Republican primary, Trump lacks both an ideological or geographic base. For all the focus on his bigoted remarks about Mexicans and Muslims, Trump has won self-identified moderate voters in both Iowa and New Hampshire. In Iowa, he lost conservatives and very conservatives but won them in NH (in a landslide victory like he had in NH, itâs hard to win everything.) In a party that is increasingly dominated by the South and Sunbelt, Trump lives on Fifth Avenue.

“Even Obama was more vetted than Trump. Jeremiah Wright and all that stuff came out. “
Now I know you’ve completely lost it. There are DECADES of interviews, photos, documentaries and shots of Trump as he has lived his life. What records has Trump ordered sealed?
You want to pretend the same info is available on Obama? Where is it?
“Trump supporters deserve every brickbat tossed at them.”
Just as long as you blame yourself for splitting the vote, and not Trump. You want to be a bitch, that’s on you.
Tell us again how superior you are to Phyllis Schlafly when it comes to conservative bona fides.
“In addition, I would suggest pointing at him and insulting him brazenly (like he does to the others) in the next debate, making him look smaller. Then look at the audience and ask them point blank whether they want their kids to emulate a womanizing, arrogant, amoral, rude divorcee twice-over, because like it or not the President acts as a role model inevitably.”
Go for it. You think that’s going to win votes for another candidate?
Trumps being vetted as we speak.
Wow the Leftist political establishment, locked in their ignorant ideological baised bubble world views of average Americans, is offer advice to the “Conservative” Establishments on how to win votes?
HAVE You taken a look at their electoral victory record? Other then Obama this clown posse has manage to take the once dominate Democrat party to a nearly dead pale shadow of it former self.
And supposed “Conservatives are taking it seriously?
You idiots! THIS is exactly why you are losing! Your candidates are clinging to to failed Establishment political playbook of selective quotation, exaggeration and lying by omission. You guys do not get it.
The political playbook itself is part of the problem. You are using the same old political tactics in a year when people are completely fed up with âpolitics as usualâ.
Your candidates are acting like standard issue politicians running standard issue âpolitics as usualâ campaigns and you wonder wondering why they are losing ground!
The voters have heard all the same thing from the GOP candidates for 3 decades. All the high flying retroic on ideological purity are meaningless to a voter who been underemployed since 2008,is worried if his current employer is going to move his job to Mexico tomorrow and whose kids go to a corrupt, incompetent, gang infested school.
People want solutions, not âhow many Conservatives can dance on the head of a pinâ, ideological debates.

No, they aren’t rare. Trump loses to both Clinton and Sanders.

I’ll blame whomever I want. I am an anti-fascist first and a Reublican second.
Ah, but the fun is in seeing how many Cruz supporters actually go along with it and admit that they agree with the sentiment.
The number of those who have done so so far is not small.
+10. Well said.
I’m not a senile old bat lifting my skirt for some relevancy?
Stooping to that level, disrespecting, disparaging and maliciously slandering Trump and tens of millions of good Americans who happen to support him, is over the top pal. It’s not up to me, but if it were I’d throw your ass out of here. If not, you’ll make an easy target if you remain.
I just can’t believe someone would stoop to that level of BS. You depict total political desperation.
That argument is based on a complete ignorance of the history of Italian Fascism, the US Political system and Trump's campaign.
It is worst sort of infantile snark posted around the web by ignorant emotion driven intellectual light weights trying desperately to pretend they are “deep thinkers”.
I think all Cruz-supporting posters should announce and declare this. Over and over. Sometimes in long posts with multiple fonts.
Put it in breaking news.
It's a message that is obviously convincing millions.
You’re spinning off into your own orbit there. Probably best for everyone.
Thanks,
