So far four potential turncoats: Grassley, Tillis, Kirk and Collins. Of course one can add McCain and the McCain Mini-Me.

The GOP cuts and runs again in their endless quest to find a battle against the commie ‘RATS to “pick and chose” from while Obonzo continues his scorched earth policies in America. Yellow-bellied cowards. Take your “debates” and shove ‘em. This will be the third freak the Kenyan will be adding to “The Gang of Nine”.

RE:”Two Republican senators from liberal states, in separate statements, did not call for blocking an Obama nominee.
;The political debate erupting about prospective nominees to fill the vacancy is unseemly said Senator Mark Kirk of Illinois, who is facing a tough re-election fight this year.Let us take the time to honor his life before the inevitable debate erupts
Senator Susan Collins of Maine said it's premature to speculate on a successor so soon after Scalia’s death. But the centrist Republican indicated that the Senate has a duty to consider nominees on their merits.”

Its better for the Senate to avoid any nominees and let those in vulnerable positions say they don't agree.

If the Senate took up any specific nominees then they will be accused of racism, sexism, hating blacks or hispanics or Asians, whatever (against the nominee)and those same Senators would be under even more pressure to approve.

Now libs are just saying its because Obama is black, a lame charge given he got two of his nominees through,.

I think the Repubs should use a strategy that is facially one that is open to ubama’s nominee. Then do a long background check that takes several months and discovers some “troubling” things about the nominee. (i.e., he/she is too young, too old, too tall, too short, too white, too dark, too smart, too dumb, too catholic, too secular, too evangelical, too liberal, too conservative, too everything.) Then, just don’t hold hearings.

Oh, yeah. LIE! Lie the whole time and claim you are really cooperating with the President and fulfilling your God given role as Senators. (Lying should be easy enough for Mitch to do.)

Rinse, repeat until January 2017. This is the Miguel Estrada strategy used by the Dems. Follow it. It works! It is not so unsophisticated that even Mitch can understand it and get it done.

This gives plausible cover to our Presidential Candidate, regardless of who he is.

Of course they are divided. They don’t represent their constituents. They represent The Machine.

It took only 72 hours for this to begin.

The GOPe-led Republican Party is totally beyond repair. The best thing for the long term advance of True Conservatism is the utter and total political annhiliation of the Republican Party.

The path is inevitible. The Republican Senators will hem and haw, draw multiple lines in the sand, and acquiesce on each one of them. In the end, they will be monumentally unpopular with the American people. They will either look weak before caving to Obama, or they will be tagged with racial or other nefarious motives if they do not execute their Constitutional role in approving the President’s nominee.

Most likely, in the end, there will be enough Republicans to break a fillibuster and confirm.

The best hope then, is that Republican Party suffers massive losses up and down the tickets. Let the Republican Party go through total political bloodbath in 2016 and watch the GOPe pols, poobahs, pundits, and operatives finally get their comeuppance!

Then watch an authentic and honest truly conservative grassroots movement spring up and take its rightful place.

And the Senate Republicans are going o depend on the “leadership” of Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY)? Even now Mitch is planning how he and other spineless, gutless, clueless Senate Republicans can cave to Obama and the Donkeys. Four of five of the Senate need to be drawn and quartered.

If the GOP was rock solid, the move would be to keep plans quiet, stall on confirmation hearings for months, then hold the hearings for two hours a week for months, then vote the nominee down in December. In addition to denying him the SC appointment, it would bog down Obama's final year in whinging, hair pulling, and tiny tantrums.

But they don't have the necessary discipline.

Email or call your US Senator and tell them to show some backbone, do not consider any Obama appointment to the court. I did, we need to get every Republican Senator covered up with calls and emails.

U.S. Sen. Mark Kirk hesitates on Obama Supreme Court nominee hearings

CHICAGO - U.S. Senator Mark Kirk has yet to weigh in on whether he thinks the Senate majority should hold hearings on an Obama nomination to fill the Supreme Court vacancy left by Justice Antonin Scalia’s sudden death over the weekend.

The nation is divided along ideological lines on the issue, and the most conservative Republican senators support delay considering the nomination until after a new president is in office in January 2017. The New York Times reports on two conservative senators’ responses:

Senator Rob Portman, Republican of Ohio, who faces re-election this year, said in a statement that the Senate should follow what he called “common practice” to stop acting on lifetime appointments during the last year of a presidential term. Senator Patrick J. Toomey, Republican of Pennsylvania, agreed, leaving nearly every vulnerable Republican incumbent backing Mr. McConnell’s pledge.

Illinois’ Senator Mark Kirk isn’t conservative, and he is facing re-election challenges in the March 15th primary and the November General Election. His opposition in the GOP primary is from the right and his opposition in the General will be from the Democrats’ Left.

There is no real split. They are going to confirm whoever the Sultan sends up and the Constitution, already in tatters, will be simply burned one piece at a time. It would only require a few months and some changes in the SC calendar to declare much of the Constitution unConstitutional or declare the various totalitarian projects Constitutional. We, the population of the Republica have already mostly accepted that the USSC is the ruling Oligarchy and that whatever USSC decrees is immutable Law. Half a century of modern education has eliminated any sense of history for most of the people and they cannot understand what has happened in the past, what has worked and what has not worked, what the consequences of actions and systems have been in the past and must be in the present and future. The country is done. If there are enough men left in the country then it will all devolve into chaos and violence with uncertain outcome. If there are insufficient of them left left then we will go simply into compliant mindless servitude. Either way famine and the killing is coming.
