Ted Cruz fires back at Trump for lawsuit threat and name-calling

With the Republican primary in South Carolina just days away, Ted Cruz has stepped up his fight with Donald Trump, who is threatening to sue him unless he stops airing what the billionaire candidate calls "false ads" and retracts what he called a series of lies.

Cruz questioned both Trump's conservative credentials and whether he had the temperament to be president.

"The people of South Carolina want a consistent conservative they can trust," Cruz told reporters before his rally in Aiken.

Cruz, who is trying to weaken Trump's standing among South Carolina's social conservatives and evangelical Christians, also released a new television ad attacking Trump, showing footage of him praising Planned Parenthood and Hillary Clinton. It ends with the line, "South Carolina cannot trust Donald Trump."

Trump is challenging Cruz's eligibility to serve in the White House, calling him "the most dishonest guy I think I've ever met in politics."

"I think he's an unstable person," he said, later declaring: "He's nuts."

. . . Snip . . .

Cruz also blasted Trump's sister, a federal appellate judge, calling her a "radical pro-abortion extremist" who should not be considered for the Supreme Court vacancy.

Trump's sister, Maryanne Trump Barry, is a judge on the 3rd U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals in Philadelphia. Trump has said she would make a good justice, but Cruz said she would not be a good choice, citing an opinion she wrote in 2000 that held a New Jersey law banning late-term abortions placed an "undue burden" on a woman's constitutional right to have the procedure.

Cruz then pointed at Trump's apparent confusion during a Republican debate last year over what constituted the nuclear triad as an example of how the real estate mogul is unprepared to be president.

What will you say when Trump’s past use of H1B and illegal labor becomes better known?

Unbelievable. Trump’s sister is a dyed in the wool radical feminist

You do realize she was first appointed by Reagan, correct?

Could it be, if you could see past your zealotry, that Trump was just being kind to his sister?

Or is that too much to ask?

There is a .gif floating around on here that shows Cruz greeting his young daughter who doesn't look very happy to see her daddy, more than likely because she is a we bit tired.....so, should that be used against Cruz in a fashion that his own daughter doesn't even like him?

See how things can be twisted by those who are bent on not seeing?

Upset? Hardly. I’m having fun. But truth be told I find it disconcerting that some freepers would support someone who requires nothing short of a court appointed psychologist to conduct an examination on the man whose chameleon like changes of positions requires nothing less than a complete score by Stravinsky.

Meh. He's a businessman. He didn't make the rules and it wasn't his job to enforce them.

Donnie is a P#ssy! A juvenile crybaby with severe sociopath tendencies. In other words Completely nuts.

But that misses the point entirely. It doesn't matter whether she would in fact be nominated by Trump. What matters is you have a radical pro-abort judge that Trump thinks would be great on the SC. That sends a horrible message to the prolife community. It tells us Trump is just out there on Pluto somewhere. He doesn't get our issue. We really think it's important what kind of judge the next President is going to nominate. He's totally tone deaf on the issue. He's promising a symphony and he's tone deaf. Why, why, why are people not getting this?

BTW, he's OK with killing a child if the father is a rapist. How are we supposed to take him seriously as a prolife candidate? Only if we shut our eyes and plug our ears and whistle past the graveyard. What a walking disaster he is for the prolife movement. Breaks my heart that so many are being duped.

Peace,

SR

Was Cruz speaking in his whiny high pitched voice when he asserted his manhood? Were there tears in Teddy’s creepy eyes?

It would be very interesting if you could explain why you believe that Trump filing a lawsuit challenging Cruz’s eligibility would mean the end of the Trump campaign. Please enlighten us.

Ah, so the old guilty by association is all that counts? REAGAN appointed her to the bench. What was that again about association?

Hey has talked to lawyers and knows Cruz is eligible to be president. All he has is a bluff and bluster. Which is 99%of what Trump has.

Trump’s sister was nominated by President Ronald Reagan on September 14, 1983, to a seat on the United States District Court for the District of New Jersey vacated by Henry Curtis Meanor. How could any ‘conservative’ have supported Ronald Reagan after that........

he people who are voting for Trump are not playing the Republican game again. We’re not holding our noses. And we don’t care about Trump’s liberal past. He’s in favor of securing the border, beating the terrorists, and reining in the national debt. That’s good enough for us.
......................................................
Worth repeating and adding.....bringing back America’s manufacturing base therefore jobs to our starving middle class, and looking out for out Vets and building back our military.t
That’s all we want.

Trump has gotten a lot of mileage out of half-truths, innuendo, and guilt by association and you guys were cheering every word.

All Cruz is doing is taking Trump’s herky-jerky comments to their logical and natural conclusion. Time for Trump to prove can dissemble his opponent’s positions, if he can instead of crying “not fair, not fair” and threatening to sue.

LOL! Any parent can identify the crabby kid syndrome. Who knows what the issue was. Maybe she wanted a fresh iTunes card and they didn’t get it, so she’s on a pout. Kids do that sort of thing. Yawn. Welcome to ordinary life as a parent (or grandparent, in my case). :)

Peace,

SR
