From the beginning, it was a phony, beard “marriage” designed stictly for power and the wealth that accompanies it.
In the photo of the 1958 Miss America contest, is that Anita Bryant, second from the Left? If so, I just wanted to point out that she was a member of a Bob Hope USO tour (possibly during the VN war).
All the women are very pretty which is why we young teens watched the contest. They were also talented and could say more than 5 words in a coherent manner as opposed to our current college students, female or male.

Well this is off topic a bit, but I remember reading somewhere that ugly old Lyndon Johnson used to get pissed because everyone loved to talk about what a great ladies man JFK was thought to be.
