Still Report #621 – Cruz Delegate Quits Cruz in Disgust
Still Report ^ | 02-16-16 | Bill Still

Posted on 02/16/2016 2:57:03 PM PST by Whitebread

C. Steven Tucker, a nationally-recognized healthcare policy expert and a delegate to the Republican convention for Ted Cruz, has come out publicly that he is abandoning Cruz because of his inability to tell the truth. 'I have bit my tongue long enough. As a delegate for Senator Ted Cruz I have been placed into a difficult and increasingly uncomfortable position and now I have had enough.' ..............

Even Rush gave pause today when he played the Cruz audio of “54 million evangelicals stayed home”. You could tell Rush thought it was bullshit but didn’t want to out his boy.

Cruz has a nasty habit of either gross hyperbole or flat out lying. It comes so natural to him which is freaky.

Cruz is a slippery dude.

Seems like he, like Jeb, thinks the Presidency is his right to rise. For Jeb it is legacy...for Cruz it is religion (i.e. his father’s indoctrination).

The end justifies the means.

Just saying.

Interesting observation the similarity of the two.

>>>Maybe thats a lie but I did hear Trump say he would ‘take care of everyone and the government will pay for it’.

There’s no realistic way to have what Trump supports without single payer.

It’s like Obamacare: if that’s what you want, that’s where you’re headed.

Its a pattern - Trump says something that leads to an obvious conclusion, but when others articulate that conclusion, he calls them liars.

If he's a sworn delegate, the state party is duty-bound to replace him with a delegate that will honor his pledge.

Says this Trump supporter.

He's said this and he's said that.

I guess its up to each of us what statements we take seriously and which we disregard.

Excerpt from Trump interview, Sept. 27, 2015

No skeeter, you are not a liar. Trump does in essence say “take care of everyone and the government will pay for it”. Trump probably has written more coherently on his plan, but the following excerpt is a bit of a jumble. Everyone is covered, most on private plans, make deals, government pays, etc.:

Scott Pelley: What’s your plan for Obamacare?

Donald Trump: Obamacare’s going to be repealed and replaced. Obamacare is a disaster if you look at what’s going on with premiums where they’re up 45, 50, 55 percent. [aside - my premiums are over 4x as much with less coverage since 2010].

Scott Pelley: How do you fix it?

Donald Trump: There’s many different ways, by the way. Everybody’s got to be covered. This is an un-Republican thing for me to say because a lot of times they say, “No, no, the lower 25 percent that can’t afford private.” But—

Scott Pelley: Universal health care?

Donald Trump: I am going to take care of everybody. I don’t care if it costs me votes or not. Everybody’s going to be taken care of much better than they’re taken care of now.

Scott Pelley: The uninsured person is going to be taken care of how?

Donald Trump: They’re going to be taken care of. I would make a deal with existing hospitals to take care of people. And, you know what, if this is probably—

Scott Pelley: Make a deal? Who pays for it?

Donald Trump: —the government’s gonna pay for it. But we’re going to save so much money on the other side. But for the most it’s going to be a private plan and people are going to be able to go out and negotiate great plans with lots of different competition with lots of competitors with great companies and they can have their doctors, they can have plans, they can have everything.

The GOP doesn't have super-delegates as far as I know.

They don't call them that, but the GOP does have 'special' delegates awarded by state districts, governors, etc. It is a convoluted mess to try to figure out who they are and how they are awarded.

“I thank Ted Cruz for fighting and defeating amnesty in 2013”

The Senate passed that amnesty bill. Cruz did not defeat it. It died in the House because the Representatives got scared when Eric Cantor got his ass defeated in Virginia over amnesty.

The conservation has been narrowed down to people who could not afford insurance.

We already have universal health care. Had it before Obamacare. It is the law.

Here’s one for you. Cruz is not going to build a wall or a fence. This is because he is planning on the IRS defending the border. See how that works.

I personally listened to what he said in the Debates, where he said in the last two he participated in, that everyone in his plan would be covered, and the government would pay for it.

here is what Trump(blessed be his name) had to say on Feb 7
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DIfsBnJMaLg

Here is what he said in August 6th
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5zFRjExsfTk

and here is the actually the part of the interview with Pelly where Trump says everyone will be covered, and the government will pay for it.

I couldn’t find the clip from the CBS debate, just thought I would elucidate the issue a little. :)

Agree:
In the 1st debate Trump praised socialized health-care in Canada and some other country.
