Last week nasty anti-Trump robocalls started running in South Carolina. Donald Trump accused the Cruz camp of being behind the calls.
Of course, Senator Cruz denied having anything to do with the ads.
But it was a lie.
And now there is proof that a Cruz PAC is behind the nasty anti-Trump and anti-Rubio robocalls.
The Washington Post reported:
Natalie Barrett, a 53-year-old schoolteacher from Westminster, got a robo-call earlier this month and ended up furious.
It started off simple enough, an automated man’s voice asking her age and gender, then quizzing her on which Republican candidates she liked. But when she selected Sen. Marco Rubio as one of her choices, she said, things got nasty.
“That’s when he said, ‘Did you know that Marco Rubio and the Gang of Eight are for amnesty?’” she recalled in a phone interview. “And then the gentleman said he’s for letting 11 million illegal immigrants stay in the U.S. and that he was for letting Syrians cross the borders freely.”
Barrett said she found the call — which continued to say negative things about Rubio before taking shots at Donald Trump for being a supporter of eminent domain — to be “negative” and “unfair,” but she couldn’t figure out right away who it was from. The voice said the poll was conducted by some place called Remington Research.
She told her Rubio-supporting friend about the call; her friend told the campaign. They said they knew exactly what Remington Research was: a consulting firm started by Sen. Ted Cruz’s campaign manager, Jeff Roe.
“These tactics are becoming all too common in this race and indicative of our opponents’ campaigns that are willing to say or do anything to win an election,”

What dirty trick? You mean repeating a CNN story?
If that is a dirty trick then CNN needs to be banned from FR. And isn’t Trump doing a townhall with CNN? Well golly how can we believe anything on that show since it’s on CNN?
i think it’s great having a nice down in the dirt no holds barred slugfest, where trump compares one to a child molester, and Cruz sends out emails that Carson dropped out, where Rubio doesn’t make the same statement on amnesty twice in 2 hours, where jeb drags his aging mother out of bed to come help him, it’s making for an exciting ride and the nominee wont fold like a piece of paper when the lies and distortions fly from the dems.
we need dirty right now. or we can just lose the country.
losing with honor has worked out GREAT the past 2 times!!
We are talking about election fraud on election day Nick.
Not the vote in November.
You defending the dirty tricks is like a criminal defending his crime because others do it too. That’s not a very good defense.
Did you run the rest of the article, where the manager who runs Remington Research says they are not doing this?
Didn’t see it here.
It’s a set up.
Is there a kink to the PAC so we can donate?
I doubt it. Most Trump supporters only have a 2nd grade education, so they can speak it but they really can’t read it well.
Funny how politicians always blame someone else. Like the last debate with Rubio and Rafael pointing fingers at each other, calling each other liars. What a hoot.
What we have here is decades of loser leadership. In fact, like Trump said yesterday, "Obama is a terrible negotiator with everyone except the Republicans".
There ya go!
Trump and Rubio should SUE..............
Big Pansies
But what election fraud was there? It seems like that is a total myth.
The place at the DC Trough of thousands of Washington Political Class and Cocktail Party Members is threatened. Their fortunes are threatened by a Trump victory. They, and Cruz, will do ANYTHING to keep the scam going. They must. Those donors didn't do all they did only to get nothing in return from Ted and Heidi. Of Cruz and Trump, only Cruz can be counted on to bailout the banks in another TARP, which was a transfer of 700 billion dollars from Americans to the banksters and Donor class.
To me it seemed like Clintonian language parsing.
Rush even when so far as to say he doesn't get involved in primaries except against Perot?
I thought Perot was an independent? what primary?
What is Rush on? Levin's finance's son works for Cruz and isn't happy with his blow back
Beck well enough said.
Cruz might die in South Carolina
Did you read your article? The call tells FACTS about Rubio and Trump. And Cruz had NOTHING to do with it. It’s his PAC.
Oh man this is getting good.
I could careless if a PAC was doing this, but wow if a PAC/candidate is spending money lying about who they are...now that’s a story!
And who is the ONLY candidate that doesn’t have to follow the campaign finance rules? Oh that would be the self funded guy. It would be interesting if Trump was behind this ruse. And of course it would all be ok by them because it is how he “won”. But if someone does this to Trump then it would be awful because then trump didn’t “win”.
Kind of like Charlie Sheen “Winning”
Exactly!
Outstanding post you nailed it!
Stuff like this has been going on in campaigns since the Continental Congress.
From the Cruz campaign:
âWe are not doing any robo-polls in South Carolina,â said Chris Wilson, Cruz’s director of research. âIt is not us making those calls. Anyone can make those calls as Remington Research to screw with reporters and make Jeff look like heâs doing something.”
Operation Chaos, anybody?
I hope he's using a detail of Texas Rangers or private security instead of the Baraqqi partisans in the SecServ.
LOL!
Yeah okay Nick!
So whatever happened to Walker?

Ex-CIA Agent & Cruz Supporter Who Runs Professional Shilling Company Allegedly Spread Lie About Carson Dropping Out & Tried To Frame Trump
An Ex-CIA agent and Cruz supporter by the name of Dan Gabriel, who runs a professional shilling company, was allegedly seen on Twitter spreading the false rumor Ben Carson was dropping out of the race, then later deleted his tweet and tried to frame Trump’s campaign for spreading the rumor.
Gabriel founded an actual shilling company called Applied Memetics and did work for the US government where he ‘helped pioneer the use of social media in war-fighting and political conflict.’
