My 84 yo father is having open-heart this week. No real symptoms other than lack of energy. Lucky his Dr. caught it.

I have suffered enough loss to know that the family is caught up in the emotions of it, be it devastation, denial, utter grief, confusion, anger....all sorts of various things that render them seriously unable to make a decision on the autopsy in the time frame necessary. Do not blame them ever for this. But clearer and fair-minded heads should have prevailed and order the autopsy and toxicology report, just for everyone’s peace of mind. Scalia was just THAT important.
The family is planning a funeral and playing through a whole lifetime full of memories and all the rest. This should never have been placed on their shoulders.
But he died on a Tuesday. We ultimately decided with the weather being particularly bad, with more bad weather to come on the weekend, to forget the autopsy. My father was not a Supreme Court Justice. If he was, I would have torn the place apart until they performed one. I might have called in Dr. Baden myself and hung out in the corner, reading a magazine.
I respect your opinion, and I understand it, but there are things that just need to be done, and people who need to step UP. There's been too many of this, "Oh, OK...I guess...That's just the way it is..." kind of crap from the repugnican't side of things for too long. I'm sick of it. we are at the Two Minute Warning on America's game clock.
I agree it should have been done. Easy conclusion. No question in my mind. I just mean to point out that people all grieve differently and even progressively (it all takes time to sink in) and so it is a very hard burden to place on the family. This should have been decided immediately by the authorities in charge. Scalia was extremely important to all of us.

As someone who had a Widow Maker Heart attack, circa / On June 11th, 2010, I had a Heart Attack (Widow-Maker / Tomb-Stone Type.) Blockage of the Heart and a Blood Clot was removed. I Flat Lined two (2) time's and it was not looking good at all, as per E.M.T.'s and Emergency Room Personal. They were rightfully preparing Candace (my wife) for the worst. At the hospital (5 day's later) they did an Echo Cardiogram (Ultra Sound) of the Heart, and found that it was working at 30% of normal (a heart is measured @ a 70% scale.)
Yea, my attack was so much fun, I had another in / on A 2nd (second) Stent was put into my heart on May 11th, 2011.
I try to be very observant, but I missed the "sea level to 4600 feet," would be very taxing on the body, of someone not in the best of health. (That would include me.)

Took my lower legs swelling for 2 weeks for them to diagnosis the strange sound in my chest, that turned out to be an Enlarged Heart with a ‘to small to fix’ leaky valve. I’m only 67. The PCP knew about it for the past 7 years at least. The leg swelling got me sent to the Neurologist as I have Peripheral Neuropathy. She sent me to the Cardio and Hematologist as Red/White blood cells in bone marrow are not normal still waiting for test results, they ruled out Leukemia. Pulse rate is always high, and BP is erratic due to pain level. Sudden spike in Hematocrit level spiked, after an modern old fashion blood letting Phlebotomy replacing the pint of blood with a pint of IV solution, I was sick for 2 days. But it stabilized the Hematocrit level.
Changing altitudes can cause a Vertigo/Meniere’s attack. Meniere’s is uneven pressures in the ears. Makes you sick like you are having a Vertigo attack.
