Took my lower legs swelling for 2 weeks for them to diagnosis the strange sound in my chest, that turned out to be an Enlarged Heart with a ‘to small to fix’ leaky valve. I’m only 67. The PCP knew about it for the past 7 years at least. The leg swelling got me sent to the Neurologist as I have Peripheral Neuropathy. She sent me to the Cardio and Hematologist as Red/White blood cells in bone marrow are not normal still waiting for test results, they ruled out Leukemia. Pulse rate is always high, and BP is erratic due to pain level. Sudden spike in Hematocrit level spiked, after an modern old fashion blood letting Phlebotomy replacing the pint of blood with a pint of IV solution, I was sick for 2 days. But it stabilized the Hematocrit level.
Changing altitudes can cause a Vertigo/Meniere’s attack. Meniere’s is uneven pressures in the ears. Makes you sick like you are having a Vertigo attack.
I’m only 59 and I’m having a heart scan today and an echocardiogram on Fri to make sure I don’t have blockage or a tiny hole between chambers. Just had bloodwork yesterday that was ordered by hematologist.
Our family has weak plumbing. My father, brother and I have all had to have Abdominal Aortic Aneurysms repaired in the last few years. One of those things you never knows you have. No symptoms. We all found ours while Dr. was looking for other issues.
Father an I have both had strokes. Fortunately, it only affected eyesight in both of us. The different “..ologists” I’ve seen all want to be proactive in staving off another.
