Shattuck: Liberals can’t hide their morbid glee in attacking Antonin Scalia
The Boston Herald ^ | 02/15/16 | Tom Shattuck

Posted on 02/15/2016 7:10:23 AM PST by calvincaspian

A few years back, Justice Antonin Scalia told a reporter, “ I attack ideas. I don’t attack people.”

Sadly, the social media eruption since the passing of the Supreme Court’s esteemed originalist two days ago would suggest that today’s giddy liberal is more than happy to attack people. Dead people.

RIP Antonin Scalia. Brilliant jurist. Family man. Great American.

I’ve never slept with a pillow over my face. That is definitely an eyebrow-raiser.

Totally what I'd expect from them.

But we have to be honest, if it had been Ruth Buzzi Ginsberg or Kennedy or Souter or Kagan or Sotomayor or, am I missing somebody?, this forum would be filled with giddy posts, too.

It’s quite possible that in the last moments he grabbed the pillow in reflex.

But that would disagree with the also stated “resting in repose” description.

Right now, we are all suffering from a lack of true, verified information - the fog of war is more from incomplete and incorrect info than from anything else.

Would we be wishing them an eternity in Hell as the Left is doing, not just on Facebook, but on Time-Lies-CNN’s website in the comments fields and elsewhere?

These damn commies don’t even BELIEVE in Hell but they certainly believe in a rotten death for any enemies of their Statist authoritarian state.

Come, come. Some of us would. You know that.

Maybe not "wishing" them an eternity in Hell, but certainly acknowledging it.

Also saw a socialist networking post last week from the homofascsists STILL hoping Ronald Reagan in in Hell for all of the dead homosexuals they claim are ‘his fault’.

The Left is quite militant and intolerant. On FB I turn off posts from some of these people but they are lurching closer to being unfriended in real life as well as online. But before they are rejected, I’ll have to do it in person to see the look on their faces as I reveal my own political leanings and see how they either fume at me or try to soften their hate.

"On FB I turn off posts from some of these people but they are lurching closer to being unfriended in real life as well as online."

I don't do FB, but my girlfriend does, and she "unfriended" a woman who we've had at the house for barbecues a few times. We finally "unfriended" her in real life. She was a liberal but we liked her in other ways and she generally avoided politics when at our house.

But her FB posts were becoming more stridently liberal (she is Jewish and a big fan of Ruth Bader Ginsburg), she was crowing about the gay marriage ruling, so we decided we'd end the relationship before we had a big blow-up.

The funny thing about the gay marriage ruling is that I've heard this woman on several occasions make fun of people she thought or knew to be gay, so it seemed that her joy over the gay marriage ruling was because it was a finger in the face of religious conservatives, not so much because she believes homosexuality is a great thing.

His passing is a SAD, bad day for America.

The reason he had friends ‘on the other side’ was not because he agreed with them but his quote said it!!!

“”I attack ideas. I don’t attack people.””

Now that is a inflammatory idea!!!!
