WASHINGTON, DC
U.S. Supreme Court Justice Antonin Scalia takes part in an interview with Chris Wallace on "FOX News Sunday" at the FOX News D.C. Bureau on July 27, 2012 in Washington, DC.
Late Supreme Court Justice Antonin Scalia made it clear to Fox News Channel's Chris Wallace in 2012 that if he could choose a time to step down from the high court, it would not be when a liberal president could appoint a liberal jurist to replace him.
"You're 76 years old. Will you time your retirement so a more conservative president can appoint a like-minded justice?" Wallace asked.
"I don't now. I haven't decided when to retire," Scalia responded.
Wallace asked again, "But hasn't it gone through your mind 'That if I retire, I'd like to see...' You talk about Republicans appointing one kind of justice and Democrats another. You would want somebody who adhered to your view?"
Scalia answered, "Well of course. I would not like to be replaced by someone who immediately sets about undoing what I've tried to do for 25-26 years. I mean, I shouldn't have to tell you that, unless you think I'm a fool."
Scalia passed away on Saturday at a Texas vacation ranch in El Paso. He was 79 years old.
President Obama announced Saturday he would nominate a judge to replace Scalia "in due time."
Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell , however, said the upper chamber has no plans to take up any Supreme Court nominations this year.

I do not think Obama intends to honor Justice Scalia’s wish.
Of course not, and that’s why we have to make sure it doesn’t happen. The Senate needs to block any appointments (doubtful). The new Pres needs to nominate conservatives and I think he will get perhaps FOUR of these nominations.
Confusion prevails; another JFK-type death...
We need to use every means available to reach the common American more interested in Pinterest doily's than whether they will end up in a concentration camp (just a little sarcastic)
Obama intends to honor Soros/Valerie Jarrett/Bill Ayers/Reverend Wright/Karl Marx’s wishes.
Like Patten’s ‘Don’t die for your country... make the other bastard die for his’, the path is simple...
Don’t want Scalia’s replacement to undo anything Scalia accomplished. Nay, strive to make a Kagan/Ginsberg/et-al replacement undo everything they did.
Nor the Senate.
Rest in Peace Justice Scalia.
So he was taken out just like Hoffa, only in an undetectable way. And with no autopsy, no one will know.
Elections have consequences.
Not to the democrats, apparently.
Can’t they just vote every person down that he puts up? They sure did that to Reagan. I would think that would be more effective then just not doing anything. Of course, I am just one person so who knows. The main thing is I want us to finally have the White House, Senate and House in 2017. Even if we don’t get everything we want, it’s still better to have all 3.
For later.
Then they would actually have to show up for work. That is a drag, just ask Rubio.
