Trump: Bush Lied About WMD, 9-11 Bush’s Fault
Cowboy Byte ^ | February 14, 2016 | Patriot Tribune

Trump certainly sound like Obama when he was talking about George Bush. If there weren’t WMD’s how did Saddam Hussein use them? Why did we keep finding left overs for many years to come? Yes, Saddam exaggerated what he had, but there was enough WMD’s to worry about. Plus I don’t know anyone even on the liberal side that blames Bush for 9-11. That was just way off. This really could be Trump’s downfall.

Check it out:

Donald Trump and Jeb Bush argue over Iraq, 9/11 and weapons of mass destruction at Saturday night’s debate moderated by CBS News. Trump addresses comments in made in 2008 where he said he was not surprised then-House Speaker Nancy Pelosi didn’t try to impeach Bush over Iraq.

“The World Trade Center came down during the reign of George Bush,” Trump said to a strong reaction from the audience. “That’s not keeping us safe.”

“George Bush made a mistake. We can make mistakes. But that one was a beauty. We should have never been in Iraq. We have destabilized the Middle East,” Trump said.

“You call it whatever you want. I will tell you. They lied. They said there were weapons of mass destruction and there were none. And they knew there were none. There were no weapons of mass destruction,” Trump ripped Bush.

Thank you for your post.

I distinctly remember that accusation from that time. I need proof one way or the other.

Thanks again for your post. I don’t remember that, but I did read a book on Saddam’s regime that was horrific. Before he was deposed.

Your analysis is quite extraordinary - so you believe Bush somehow manipulated the intelligence from prior to his administration ever taking office, as well as the intelligence of intelligence agencies in other countries?

yellow cake? Angle food cake. What a joke. Where ? Iraq? 50,000 casualties over yellow cake? I hate to tell you this but so what? Did you know that we are a sovereign nation? Did you know that we have absolutely NO RIGHT to tell another sovereign nation what to do? ZERO ZIP!! Do you want China bombing and killing hundreds of thousands here because we have yellow cake? I don’t believe that mind set.

Iraq may not have had any so called Weapons of Mass Destruction in form of nuclear devices, but it had plenty of yellow cake to the tune of 550 metric tons, a precursor to produce fissionable material. Eventually it was transferred to Canada for reprocessing for a more peaceful use. In other words the intend was there but it Iraq never got that far. On the other hand Iran is already there and since their leadership consists of a bunch of dingbats who wouldn’t hesitate to go nuclear, sooner or later some one will have to take them out.

Obama has been in power for almost two entire terms implementing policies making us less safe. Bush had been in office well less than a year. The two are not comparable, and it is beyond absurd for you to claim that they are.

Always a pleasure.
Saddam Hussein was a MONSTER.
This world produces them on occasion, in almost every country. That they attain such POWER is frightening.

I guess it's true that ABSOLUTE power corrupts ABSOLUTELY.

Oh my goodness...so you believe there is a moral equivalence between Saddam Hussein’s Iraq, and any other terrorist regime, and the United States?

It’s like trespassers from DU have free reign to post here anymore.

I wouldn’t be surprised if they would argue the forged documents reported on by Dan Rather and company are also “authentic”.

I absolutely do not believe that. Explain to me the nexis in my comments and your foggy conclusion which is so ignorantly wrong. Why did we lose 5000 men and 38,000 wounded for nothing, over a lie?

We are stuck with Obama because of Bush.

I take it you are a Jeb supporter.

I’m sorry but if you are the POTUS, then it’s on your watch.

15 of the 19 hijackers were from Saudi Arabi. How come we did not attack them?

Then people wonder why ISIS/Al-Qaeda still is alive and strong 14 years after 911?

We defeated Germany and Japan in less than 4 years over 60 years ago. How we can’t do that today with better technology?

Although I’m sure if we attacked another country instead of Japan or Germany durning World War II. Then the war would have lasted MUCH MUCH longer.

The Middle East is a mess and it’s probably going to lead us in to World War III. Thanks to Saudi Arabia and Turkey.

Admit it, Bush attacked the wrong country. The attackers were Saudi, not Iraqi. Saudi Arabia is the biggest exporter of terrorism in the world. I agree with going to Afghanistan, though.

Bush had no right to attack Iraq. Hussein, while a vicious bastard, was a secular bastard. Now many parts of Iraq are controlled by ISIS. Many American lives lost for nothing.

For the record, I was also against the first Gulf War. I resent US troops being used as Saudi Arabia’s personal army. Let the worthless Saudis do their own dirty work. Saudi Arabia is one of our most dangerous enemies.

Thank you for your service and your family’s service.

You mean the democrat controlled Senate of 2008?

This just reinforces the point it was a Democrat position...

IIRC Tommy Franks made the comment that they had observed this from satellite imagery.

Why would GEN Franks make this comment if it weren’t true? Too much to risk if the public statement weren’t true.

We have way too much ism-ism going on here. LeftIST. RightIST.

When someone tries to drill down to truth, nobody is going to be completely pleased with it. Our stinky underwear is going to show and our euphemisms won’t be able to cover it.

I see in your objection another problem: it might have been possible to either contain or depose Saddam (and yes, he was a problem, shooting at Israel as he did) without wishing a stupid democracy on a people who were about as ready for it as a fish is for a bicycle. They needed a stern, if yet merciful kingdom; that is what fit their culture.
