Admit it, Bush attacked the wrong country. The attackers were Saudi, not Iraqi. Saudi Arabia is the biggest exporter of terrorism in the world. I agree with going to Afghanistan, though.
Bush had no right to attack Iraq. Hussein, while a vicious bastard, was a secular bastard. Now many parts of Iraq are controlled by ISIS. Many American lives lost for nothing.
For the record, I was also against the first Gulf War. I resent US troops being used as Saudi Arabia’s personal army. Let the worthless Saudis do their own dirty work. Saudi Arabia is one of our most dangerous enemies.
Thank you for your service and your family’s service.
I’ve seen this asserted before, however the kid gloves at which we have had to handle Saudi Arabia are partly the fault of our own energy policies.
And also, just how tied is the SA government to the band of terrorists who attacked America? Was this stuff going on truly unbeknownst to them? I can’t envision them wanting to be so cavalier towards their best oil customer. I wouldn’t launch a war on a mere suspicion, especially if they proved to offer their help afterwards to deal with such bands in their territory.
“Admit it, Bush attacked the wrong country.”
No, he did not. Attacking Saudi Arabia was out of the question. It would have destroyed the world economy. Meanwhile, Iraq had violated the cease-fire agreement that ended the first gulf war, and the fighting there brought in extremists from Saudi and Iran to die fighting us.
We were not attacked by a GOVERNMENT in 9/11, but by terrorists. Those terrorists came to Iraq to fight, and we killed them there, keeping America safe for a decade. It was the right thing to do.
