"Let me put a finer point on it," Justice Scalia said, in a lower, purposeful tone of voice, his eyes fixed on mine. "I hope he sends us Elena Kagan." Oh screw you, Axlerod. What a filthy lie to dump on Scalia's body while it's still warm.
You have truly lived up to your soulless reputation with this one, David.

What an interesting story to come out, the day after the only person who could refute it dies.

I don’t need to follow the link to learn what this headline is luring me to. Knowing it comes from David Axelrod eliminates an possible plausibility.

Beau Biden's last words: "Dad, run for president!"
Scalia's advice to Axelrod: "Have Obama nominate Elena Kagen to the Supreme Court."
Uh huh.

So much so that a conservative lion would lobby the President's adviser for his liberal friend. Thank you, Justice Scalia, for your service to our country. Sure.....

How many cases have Kagen and Scalia agreed on?
To: sakic
I believe it. Basically, Scalia said “if you’re going to send us a liberal, at least send us a smart one.” I.e., don’t send us an idiot like Sotomayor.
Remember, this was when Larry Tribe wrote the letter to Obama that said the same thing, p.s. may I have a job.

There was discussion about their friendship last night on TV. Probably on ‘fox as that is all I had on after the debate. It mentioned their hunting together and his admiration for her intellect. I forgot who said it -— or even if it was a direct quite from the Justice when there were videos of his comments.

I wouldn’t put much stock in anything an Obamanoid says. They all have credibility problems.

Bullsqueeze!
Scalia knew, probably better than anyone else, that the shift in balance-of-power on the USSC to liberals would mean the TOTAL DESTRUCTION OF OUR NATION.
I refuse to believe he’d EVER say such a thing.

If true, why wouldn’t Axelrod have mentioned this years ago? Somehow I can’t see the likes of Axelrod wasting the opportunity to diminish the conservative character of Scalia. Personally I doubt that Scalia would make any such comments so as not have it look like he was trying to influence the nomination process. Surely, if he had, don’t you think the Dems would have used it against the man?
