Constitutional crisis?
What are they smoking over at Slate?
We have been in a constitutional crisis for a long time - it’s just that a lot of people haven’t realized it yet.
Where’s the Constitutional Crisis? The Senate can delay as long as they want. If they gave in, they’d lose the Senate in the fall
No. We have the congress and Senate. FUBO.
Nah, Obama will almost certainly nominate someone as is his right. And the Senate will almost certain ignore it as is their right.
And Scotus will have some 4:4 votes that confirm the lower courts rulings until such time as the position gets filled. I’d actually expect SCOTUS will delay hearing the more controversial cases.
Of course, if the GOP loses the Senate, the Rats could probably conviegn before Obama leaves office. So I can tell you now, at this very moment, the DNC is doubling the dollars to go after weak GOP Senators
Withholding consent on whatever NAZI turd Obama nominates would create a “constitutional crisis”? Where is it written we have to eat **** and like it?
Obama’s executive orders should have resulted in a Constitutional crisis, but the GOP is not an opposition party.
The more I think about the alledged facts of this event, the more I smell corruption and criminality. I have a strong feeling that there IS foul play involved. Look at who is investigating this? The Feds. Is there any chance that the truth will get out without independence in this fact finding?
Vince Foster, again.
A: No. SCOTUS originally had 6 members. 8 is enough.
I’m thinking that it is going to be more like a Civil War. The commies want to add another freak to their freak show.
Leave it to leftists to call the Senate’s right to advice and consent in the nomination process as a “constitutional crisis.”
Being down one Justice will not through the nation into the pits of hell. Jeez Louise—don’t the teach anything anymore? In case of an equal split it goes to whatever the last lower court ruled.
W was not a lame duck when he appointed Roberts. Apples and oranges.
This has been an issue before. The Senate doesn’t usually accept lame duck nominees. Nothing wrong with it at all.
Where can I place a bet that Obama gets a nominee confirmed by the Senate well before even November? Probably by summer.
If that is true, why'd the Repubs give Obama EVERYTHING and MORE that he wanted to spend and every program he wanted to fund until the end of the fiscal year in which he leaves office?
This is bravado. Or just bs. WHEN have the Repubs done ANYTHING that would indicate they will NOT confirm whoever Obama puts up there?
Perhaps. But it is more likely to lead to Civil War, IMO.
You know the Supreme Court is a fraud when people have to worry about which party gets to nominate the next justice. It’s time to shut that sewer down.
