Earthquake waves are interesting. Whether you feel a shock or wave depends a lot on the formations immediately near your specific locations. I seldom feel the earthquakes from northwestern Oklahoma like this one, while people north of here often do. Earthquakes from south of here we often feel.

Were you stranded two days in Pratt, Kansas or did it just seem like two days? I am a former Kansan and know where Pratt is. I can only hope the television still worked.

Can anyone explain why they refer to the Richter scale?
It sounds like you're measuring the quake on a scale from 1 - 10. But it really a reference to the last quake.
I think it's worthless.

Actually it was two days and one night.
I started to say that one day I spent a month in Pratt but that was a little too snarky. At least there was a motel and some place to eat.
The day I spent in Sublette, the only thing open was a 7-11 type store. I had to eat microwave sandwiches.

It is very interesting, and amazing.

The house was shaking pretty good near Wichita. That was the biggest one I’ve felt around here so far.

Haven't felt a good one here in SoCal in five weeks (
SoCal Quake). Perhaps if you and your neighbors jump up-and-down in time with the quake waves, you can amplify it enough for the rest of us to feel it, too. As a public service...

That 7-11 type store in Sublette would have been the Dart In.

Well, the wife & I were “foolin’-a- round” this morn but we’re in NC. Doubt you’d have noticed in Kansas . . . though we do get quite frisky sometimes. ;o)
