Beating Trump in Debate (NRO Delusional with Rage)
National Review Online ^

Posted on 02/13/2016 7:23:01 AM PST by Windy City Conservative

I have a little bit of advice for Cruz and Rubio tomorrow when it comes to defeating Trump. Some of the advice is tactical, but the more important advice is strategic. Attack Trump early, relentlessly, on everything, and never, ever stop. The tactical advice is that you should stop saying that Trump is for single-payer. That is too bloodless. Say that Trump was for a government-owned, and government-rationed, health care monopoly. Also try to work in the argument that Trump would give us the corruption of the Clintons with the huge government of Bernie Sanders.

All you do to win a debate with Trump is remind him of his past, and the things he said...

“I’ve known Jeff for 15 years. Terrific guy,’’ Trump told New York magazine in a 2002 profile of Epstein written three years before Epstein began to be investigated. “He’s a lot of fun to be with. It is even said that he likes beautiful women as much as I do, and many of them are on the younger side. No doubt about it — Jeffrey enjoys his social life.”

Just mention Jeffrey Epstein’s name in the debate tonight, and watch as Trump goes white as a ghost!

Besides allowing the MSM rediucing those so called debates to the consistancy of a WWF wrestling match.
DT has no core conservative principles or values

.In those debates runs away from any discussion of them by using his experience as a showman with the WWF . Im surprized he does not pick up a chair and toss it.

Look at what he did to Carson. Called him insane, a questionable surgeon performing abortions and intimated he was a pedophile the minute he showed a slight lead in Iowa polling. When he could have asked Carson how he feels about Obamas use of the Bully Pulpit and the resultant ganfbangers attacks on non blacks which resulted in scores of deaths of whites, asians and huspanics and why Carson as a black did not condem it.

There are dozens of examples Limbaugh could have used where Trump demonstrated during this campaign that he does not think or approach problems in conservative terms let alone understand them and is unable to bring them up.. But views challanges in a very personal way that could reveal any core convictions he could have but clearly does not.

From the campaign begining with the first debate. His legiirimate battles with Fox and Kelly, and her misogyny complaint Trump goes on CNN following the debate to complain about his treatment .Alas where he could have cited how the press abused Palin as well as other conservatives. Instead must personnaly attack Kelly and brings up Kellys body functions thus confirms her assertions .

His prima donna style announcement to skip the Iowa debate because hes the star of the show amd will not perform with second rate actors did not set well with Iowans or Americans generally.

Because the purposes of a debate is to advance discussions on the future of this country.and how rhe candidaes will adress them Not some entertainment comedy venue.

Policy wise Trumps revealing exchange with campaign disrupter and un official spokesman for the Mexican government Jorge Ramos (Univision). who has dual citizenship, which should have but did not, show any conviction on his pronouuncements about Mexico and its relationship with US.

Here Trump could have demanded to know from him If he believes Mexico has legitimate claim to American states ,as well as bring up Mexican treatment of illegals. Then ask why should the US permit land ownership when legal American retirees cannot own land in their own name or vote there. Then boot his buttocks out of there.

Instead what does he do ? Kisses up to him and lets him go .The way the Mexicans are treating Americans reciprocity should be the issue and would dump the quote hispanic unquote ( actually a strawman)krap being passed on as a generic hispanic issue. When actually it is problemes created by the Mexican government which have gone unchallanged.

Then there is the issue where some UK politicians along with Islamists wanted to prevent Donald Trump from even visiting Britan . Here he would have been saluted if he did this. Used the Brits expression to those phoneys; To Piss off, and WISE UP, pointing out the problems they are having there and chiding them for refusing to face reality.

Instead what did he do ? Threatens economic retailiation on a project golf course he has in Scotland.

What really sealed it for me was when Businessman deal maker Trump who also owns Goldman Sachs stock
http://www.freerepublic.com/focua/f-news/3386879/posts
While promoting a misrepresentarion of an opponents loan from a source he has investments in.

Here he sides with the GOPES, to get their endorsements and even advocates expanded mandated Ethanol. Because he thinks dumping this government mandated junk inro your gas tank will help him carry IOWA . Which also begs the question of Just how heavily invested is he in Ethanol ?

Apparently those prefering a candidate who marches away from key conservative principles that supports and wants more government mandates and subsides especially for a product like enthanol which is a boon doggle means nothing to them.
Well it does to me....and it should to them.

I just hope one of President Trump’s first “acts” is to declare the Club for Growth and the US Chamber of Crony Communists “subversive organizations!” (s)

You are wasting your time. These people are not main stream conservatives. They are cultists.

So I take it that you are “all in” with the Club for Growth? How about the US Chamber of Crony Communists? I think you would do yourself a great service by removing the word “thinker” from your screen name.

In other words, lie about Trump and see if it sticks. These citizens of the world are pitiful.

Well Rush has demonstrated and pushed for true conservative values since the beginning of his radio show in the late 80s and I believe held these values long before that. Values such as: Anti-abortion, strong military, support for troops, balanced budget through spending cuts and lower taxes, basically less government and government control in our lives. Rush was named an honorary member of congress after the 94 election republican take over. Mr. Trump during the 90s was contributing to candidates from both sides of the asile but mostly Democrats especially the Clintons. Trump was Pro-Abortion and remained silent on other conservative causes until recently. While Trump has been shown to be “registered” as a Republican continuously for many years, he certainly hasn’t supported the Republican party continuously during that time as he was a supporter of the “Reform” party and was or contemplated running as a reform candidate at one time.

Trump is a real estate mogul... and actually created 'jobs' and built buildings.. And Trump is a 'natural born US citizen. Trump was active on the lord McCain and Romney campaigns... As was Rush... Rush was more pro-Romney than any of the other candidates. That is when I stopped listening to him.

Yes, Trump sounds more conservative NOW but there is no way that I compare him and his stands over time to Rush.

Trump and Rush's personal life styles mirror each other. But Trump owns the golf courses Rush plays on. Rush does have one more divorce and remarriage than does Trump... And Trump owns the media, whereas Rush has to talk for days to get a drive-by hit... Was anybody disturbed when Rush call that gal a 'slut' because she thought women were entitled to 'birth control? NOOOO!!! Trumps has the larger plane... Need more examples where these two personal life mirror each other?

Cruz did NOT do our military any favors when he teamed up with lord McCain to handcuff our military from waterboarding the barbaric terrorists. I call that ACT the biggest piece of liberalism ever.

There is not even a remnant of the Congress of 94 left in Congress, unless you want to call Linsdey Graham the remnant.

Cruz has already challenged Trump to a one on one debate... But guess what? It is against then GOP-RNC rules to have such a debate.... Cruz does not like laws and rules for himself, he is one of those of the entitlement mind.

Here’s my advice for dealing with Trump: Just rapid-fire lie as much as possible and hope something sticks.

You mean - use Trump's debate tactics against him?

I can find multiple threads with multiple examples of Trump supporters that engage in ad hominem attacks so rather than let loose with generalizations, perhaps we could focus on the candidates and Donald Trump, how should I put this, is not exactly known for civility. I despise political correctness and don’t mind throwing a well deserved blow such as the one Trump threw at Jeb Bush. My problem, on the lines of being a solid conservative, is that I don’t see Trump as a conservative and to borrow your point, he says he is now but you don’t have to look far to see something wildly different. It would be different if he had a genuine change of heart, explained why he changed his views, and was reassuring but all the evidence to me suggests he’s telling me what I want to hear. His interview on 60 minutes and responses on Healthcare were very worrying.

Using loser tactics will get you loser results. I saw the garbage Romney pulled on Gingrich. I wasn’t a Gingrich supporter but I voted for Gingrich anyway because of the filth Mittens dropped on him during the campaign. If things go down the way this idiot wants them to, Trump won’t be the one hurt. Cruz and Marco Rubio (Mitt’s protege in lying) will be the ones damaged. Cruz should stay far away from anything Romney. Let Rubio take the fall. Florida remembers.

My “ignorance” is what? Could you even bother explaining that or do you just randomly toss it out there hoping no one will question it? No, I don’t own a corporation and that question (intended insult) would suggest you don’t know the definition regarding ownership (speaking of ignorance). No, I suppose a lowly small business doesn’t count for anything but most real entrepreneurs don’t get a million dollar gift from daddy either. You should also wise up to the fact that Trump went from a 50% ownership stake to a 5% ownership stake after four chapter 11 bankruptcies. And entrepreneurs don’t go asking agencies like the CRDA to confiscate buildings (hello Kelo) evicting property owners offering them less than 40% of what they just paid for the property for their own business (see CRDA v. Banin).

You need to read Donald Trump’s book where he took a swipe at Reagan as a performer who did nothing while admiring Jimmy Carter for the tenacity to ask him for a 5 million dollar hand out. If its Rubio, Bush and the other establishment entries, yes, but Ted Cruz will no doubt from day one begin dismantling Obamacare. Trump himself made it all too clear when he bragged about his great relationship with Nancy Pelosi and Harry Reid what sort of nauseating presidency that’ll be for conservatives.

So NRO’s advice is for Cruz and Rubio to come across as mean spirited arrogant condescending conservatives. That’s pretty desperate. Trump is likely to win a huge majority of the SC delegates and after that will be unstoppable

LOL! That's why I hope they listen to the dipwads at NRO and we seal up the deal for Trump right now!

No, and no but I’m glad I have you around to tell me what I support and I enjoy watching you avoid Trump’s support for Democrats as a registered Democrat that led to and didn’t end with Obamacare because he shares Hillary and Bernie’s position on nationalized healthcare. I think you could do yourself a big service by actually trying to think before you speak.

“I think you could do yourself a big service by actually trying to think before you speak.”

I take it you were looking in the mirror when you made that statement. But not to worry, after next Tuesday, You won’t have anything to “think” about any longer. You and your fellow Cruzers can form a group to hold a wake for Teddy.
