Beating Trump in Debate (NRO Delusional with Rage)
National Review Online ^

Posted on 02/13/2016 7:23:01 AM PST by Windy City Conservative

I have a little bit of advice for Cruz and Rubio tomorrow when it comes to defeating Trump. Some of the advice is tactical, but the more important advice is strategic. Attack Trump early, relentlessly, on everything, and never, ever stop. The tactical advice is that you should stop saying that Trump is for single-payer. That is too bloodless. Say that Trump was for a government-owned, and government-rationed, health care monopoly. Also try to work in the argument that Trump would give us the corruption of the Clintons with the huge government of Bernie Sanders.

Trump cannot hold own in a sustained debate on policy and values. My advice to Ted Cruz would be to challenge Trump to a one on one debate once the establishment candidates wither after South Carolina and healthcare would be a great starting point. Marco Ruboto has no business even running for President.

So NRO’s advice is for Cruz and Rubio to come across as mean spirited arrogant condescending conservatives. That’s pretty desperate. Trump is likely to win a huge majority of the SC delegates and after that will be unstoppable.

2) Your candidate has been extremely supportive of the homosexual agenda.

In an abstract way, yes. There's no support for homosexual marriage or their overall agenda.

Anyway, homos pale in comparison to the open borders/bad trade/massive debt we have now.

Ah in case you were not paying attention when the weeping Boehner took the gavel as the Speaker, he proclaimed that he would not change Nancy's rules... Did you throw a fit over that?

You have yet to figure out Trump speak.... One minute he is describing how he makes deals and then he says he can get along with Nancy and Harry.... They, Nancy and Harry have been warned... Do you see Nancy and Harry out on the Trump campaign...

Just like when Trump was calling Cruz a Canadian anchor baby.... You think Trump does not know that Cruz is NOT the 'anchor baby' running for president.

Not defending everything about Rush. He is a man with flaws like everyone else, cept’ for the Donald of course! Don’t know why he was light about Rubio. He did set out both sides on the issue.

Just saying what he said about Cruz. And Cruz is a real conservative. Best we have had come through for president in years!

NRO and the other estblishment pundits just don’t get it. This election isn’t about conservatism vs liberalism. The betrayal of both parties of the American people and the American ideal make such arguments stupid in the electorate. It makes no difference which party has won and the ideals they claim to embrace because either way they both sell th nation and her people out.

So another election of liberal va conservative is what the uniparty wants... But Trump just blew that all to hell, by presenting and offering Americanism first. That is what this election is about America First. You can try to attack Trump for not adhering to stringent conservative principals and it won’t matter. Trump isn’t taking out folks by arguing their conservative credentials.

This election is about America, and that’s why Trumps support is wider and deeper than any of the pundits realize. They can misrepresent Trump any way they want... Trump have never argued single payer, he has argued for universal health care, never single payer. But that isn’t going to matter anyway.

You can argue, conservatism vs liberalism when both are in the context of America first... When neither are putting American first, the argument is irrelevant. That’s what is going on this election and the elites and pundits are just clueless.

For starters, Thomas Jefferson and most of the framers of the Constitution were lawyers but the more important issue is that you’re running a celebrity candidate, not an executive. We don’t need another Democrats in republican clothing as our nominee.

That last paragraph was pretty lame. And the fact why Cruz is disliked is cause he walks the walk about conservatism and not afraid to call the establishment out. Have you forgotten how he called out McConnell for lying. It was absolutely true!

“Evading?” Says who? You’re “conservative movement” brought us a disastrous war, thousands of dead and horribly injured soldiers, an economic crash not seen since 1929, trillions in debt, “free trade” practices that destroyed our manufacturing base and left thousands of shattered towns across America with no economic base, no jobs, and scourged by drug addiction.

And all of that led to the monumental disaster of Barack Hussein Obama, a “conservative movement” that is not worthy of the name, a Republican Party that despises its base, a “conservative” Media that blows hot air and accomplishes nothing, and a real and present danger that America may not ever recover.

As you say, “my candidate” says the hell with rigid ideology(rigid ideology is what the Left practices, not what the innovators, the builders, the free-thinkers, the entrepreneurs practice), I love my country and i’m going to kick incompetent PC ass and take names to save her.

That’s what we need at this point in our history. We can rebuild the “conservative movement” later once the bleeding has stopped.

Yeah, well Reagan was a celebrity too. A former actor. The hypocritical Left that embraces Hollywood started denigrating him as a "dumb actor." We all know how that worked out.

You can support the same staid, black-and-white photo candidate, presenting boring 10-point plans to an audience nodding off, and who'll be more than happy to be the step-n-fetchit for the news media and Democrat, and graciously concede the election at the end.

OK - that can be a given.

Now show me how and where he can amass two hundred and seventy electoral votes ?

Here’s the thing. Trump’s hard core will stay loyal to him no matter what is said. They are like Perot’s supporter and like Ann Coulter (remember she said that she didn’t care if he did abortions in the West Wing?) Going after Trump is for the 65% of non-Trump supporters who are not sold on him. You need to show that he is not a real conservative. And that comes through relentless attacks and getting him flustered. We have already seen that, especially right after Iowa. Time to put on the brass knuckles and go to war if another candidate is to win, other than Trump. He has plenty of stuff to hit him on, but it needs to start in SC.

I’ve have found most Cruz supporters to be very abusive to others who disagree with them, name calling for instance.

While I like Cruz as VP or my second choice he has one thing against him, he is in office.

He is a solid conservative, but many claim to be and are not.

I am counting on Trump to be a man of his word, and Cruz’s action in IA speaks VOLUMES to his honor.

After reading so much vomit by this noobie, I’m convinced he is a troll sent here to keep the Cruz/Trump war going. All that will ensure is a victory for the GOPe under the banner of Rubio. He/she is so transparent it’s laughable.

It’s the same tired mantra of ‘Cruz is the one and only true conservative’ which in today’s climate, means spit.

Here's the thing.

No, here's the thing: First, where the Hell are you getting "65%" of non-Trump supporters from? The supporters of Trump are completely in his suit pocket. They are not being swayed by public opinion polls, his past liberalism, or GOPe consultants, and they will not vote for any other Republican should the GOPe pull any shenanigans in Cleveland.

The other candidates in the race are simply fighting for VP or cabinet positions.

Try actually having a discussion with me as opposed to launching into a monologue. Yes, you are still evading me on the topic of Donald Trump who doesn’t achieve the end you claim to be after and more to the point demonstrates how mediocre some conservatives have become. Look, I sympathize with apathetic voters and I was staunchly opposed to McCain being the nominee but what I won’t do is lie to myself about Trump being an opportunistic celebrity that had espoused left wing positions and registered Democrat at a time he spent thousands on liberal democrats...it is epitome of a telling voters what they want to achieve the power you desire and if he were to get it he would betray conservative principles and give you that same harsh language you praise him for now with a ‘how great I am’ attitudes to boot.
