Donald Trump on Friday threatened to sue Ted Cruz for "not being a natural born citizen" if the Texas senator "doesn't clean up his act" and stop running negative ads against him.
"If @TedCruz doesn't clean up his act, stop cheating, & doing negative ads, I have standing to sue him for not being a natural born citizen," he tweeted.

Trump has previously argued that if Cruz won the Republican nomination, Democrats would argue that the Canada-born Texas senator was ineligible for the presidency. Last month, Trump asked a rally if he should sue Cruz "just for fun" over the issue.

I suspect that Trump was FOS just as it is obvious that it is.
Even if that non-sense was true then it gives even better reasons to be against Trump now.
It makes Trump a criminal conspirator and then he belongs in jail with Hillary,.

Cruz can only look weak and ineffectual from this position unless he takes on Trump by telling him to bring on the suit.

Either that or, as he said in Sept., his lawyers said Cruz is eligible to run, and any lawsuit he filed would be destructive to his campaign and make a fool out of him. So he more mileage out if it the way it is now.

Since not being a natural born citizen is clearly NOT a tort, I guess maybe Trump is threatening to sue the person in charge of the ballot in some state that allowed Cruz on the ballot? The ballot official might be guilty of not following the law and could be sued. That certainly is not suing Cruz.

IIRC, primary candidates are required by most or all states to sign a declaration they are eligible to run for the presidency in the general election.

As a Cruz supporter, I say let’s get on with the lawsuit already so that this can be settled once and for all.
Trump HAS the standing to file this lawsuit.
I actually hate this issue and dont want votes decided on it, but it is REALITY that it is hanging over Cruz-s head so yes, lets settle, one way or another, as soon as legally possible.

What you said would be adavantageous to Trump in a small way only, getting Cruz to stop isnt what this is all about and neither is the NBC issue.
Trump is stirring the pot and now the ball is in his opponent court.
Even if Cruz says nothing Trump got publicity — and maybe some other cards will fall his way.
This man is a genius, playing Cruz and the other like a fiddle. lol.
Those not in the Trump camp might turn this around and suggest that Trump’s sound and fury signifying nothing is doing himself harm.

As a Trump AND Cruz supporter, for the good of my Country, I wish the BOTH of them would knock off the bullsh*t and remember who the real enemy is, and focus all of their efforts on knocking out the RINOs and then crushing the socialists on the other side - both the open one from Vermont and the closeted one from wherever the f*** she came from.
There’s too much at stake here for these two to be playing electioneering games.
