On Aug. 5, 2015, contractors for the Environmental Protection Agency accidentally released 3 million gallons of contaminated wastewater into Cement Creek, a tributary of the Animas River. Six months later, questions about the effects of spring runoff, Superfund status and remediation remain unanswered.
N.M. official blasts EPA over Gold King spill
âWhen storm events occurred, the sediment was remobilizedâ
Where the Animas goes The Gold King Mine blowout on Aug. 5, 2015 sent 3 million gallons of wastewater into the Animas River, which flows into the San Juan River. The San Juan flows into the Colorado River. The Colorado River is dammed, so it's possible the metals and sediment did not make it beyond Lake Powell.
“accidentally”. Lol
If it’s back to normal is there a need for the EPA?
Who will cause the next disaster?
It would seem to me that this is only one more reason to get rid of the EPA.
How’s the fishing?
Toss up,
E.P.A? Or
F.B.I.
Either agency is rogue
It has to have been the “fault” of the company who produced the waste in the first place, the EPA would never do anything so evil, just ask them. (sarc)
” The Colorado River is dammed, so it’s possible the metals and sediment did not make it beyond Lake Powell.”
So it’s “ possible” the millions of people that get their water out of Lake Powell were unaffected. Alrighty then!
The FBI is too busy shooting down unarmed citizens to investigate.
Sorry...
I think the big story here is that to date,NO person from the E.P.A. Has been fired or held accountable for this.
Just as NO gub mint Moe ever is held for their deeds.
There was No need for the EPA to be there doing what they were doing, they’ve said so.
Animas is one jewel.
