...

Saying that he does't trust businessman Donald Trump ideologically, Viguerie added: "Cruz is the best candidate I've seen since Ronald Reagan and in many ways he's more ideologically consistent than Reagan." His feeling is that with the establishment currently divided across several candidates, Cruz can to rally not just conservatives, but the entire GOP. Viguerie said the GOP hasn't been fully united since 1988 and "only Cruz has potential to unite the party." ...

Considering so many people find Cruz slimy and off-putting that he can’t even unite Evangelical voters, I’m highly suspicious of these claims that he’s some kind of coalition builder.

“Being a uniter” ranks pretty low on my list of political platitudes that I kind of even care about anyway, but it seems kind of silly to take a guy like Cruz, who wears the fact that everyone in his “Washington Cartel” hates his guts as a badge of honor, and claim that magically by the sheer force of an editorial column, he’s some kind of well-loved peacemaker.

You’re a better man than I am, Gunga Din.

I’ll write in Trump if I have to.

“Aw you’re just mad that that he even won the NH evangelicals!”

Romeny had a higher turnout in NH than Trump did. Nothing to be mad about.

We live in a liberal hotbed in the foothills near Seattle. Lots of people around here are either excited about Trump or fearful if they support Hillary or Bernie. Most of them have no clue who Cruz even is. Cruz will never be more than a fringe candidate.

Cruz has no charisma, proven leadership abilities, and is known for his disagreeable personality. His eligibility would be challenged by the Democrats and a sympathetic media if by some far fetched miracle he become our nominee, and he would lose. His chance of forming any kind of winning coalition exists only in the minds of the self-deluded.

Trump gets the support of 30% of the republican primary voters. That is not a Reagan sized coalition. But don’t let me interrupt today’s Trump circle jerk.

I will vote for Cruz if he becomes the Republican nominee. That being said I do not like the man. It is hard for me to say why.

Feel the same way.

With Cruz, he often uses weasily lawyer/politician talk, his voice is grating & he is terrible at telling jokes. Can't complain about where he stands on the issues at all. I'm just not convinced he can do much outside his appeal to evangelicals.

When he blames the state of New Hampshire for his loss, Cruz just shows he doesn't understand how to appeal to anyone outside his narrow base.

....Trump won’t unite anybody. Not with the rhetoric and the language he’s spewing from his mouth on a daily basis.
I promise it does not play well in the south, at least not for baby boomers.

When someone is in the voting booth, no one knows who they will vote for.

“...Trump wont unite anybody. Not with the rhetoric and the language he’s spewing from his mouth on a daily basis...”

In other words, you still like to hear the smarmy mouth language that spews from the mouth of professional politicians...
You know, the one’s who stick their finger in the air and then say what they think you want to hear, then do nothing but laugh at you behind closed doors...

I’m not so sure I can vote for him after wrangling with his supporters on this forum and the dirty tricks he has pulled. Not to mention who his advisers are and his wife’s background. sure, she isn’t running for office, but, never underestimate the influence a wife has on a husband. I just can’t get enthusiastic about Cruz.

Maybe so but I’m sated!
New Hampshire Republicans, meanwhile, turned out in the highest numbers in ten years, with presidential candidate Donald Trump winning more than twenty percent of the vote over his next-closest rival in this primary, Ohio Governor John Kasich.

“Romney ain’t runnin’......”

But you wanted to brag about NH. That was still the results, 4 years ago. Where liberal NH goes isn’t where the country goes.

Fooled you, didn’t he? When he quietly supported TPA, so the TPP could pass, you didn’t even notice. BTW, Silver or Gold is best for Faraday shields, but copper is cheaper.

Viguerie has been a really important conservative for a long time. Naturally, the Trumpsters who think the only defining trait that makes one a conservative is support for the fraud Trump will denounce Viguerie. And Trump has bashed every other candidate in the most vile and vulgar way not seen in fifty years. How does he unite the party? He probably will end up taking his ball and going home before this is all over.

Trump or Cruz the party will have to unite.

It is just a question of what the donors order the candidate to do. We already know cruz’s two big donors are proponents of the homosexual lobby.

We know Trump can not exactly move his land and hotels.

He would not accomplish much as he is not liked by his peers-at least according to some reports. A modicum of likability is necessary to achieve a political result Congress could simply dig in their heels and refuse to pass a Presidential initiative.
