If conservatism is your bag, if conservatism is the dominating factor in how you vote, there is no other choice for you in this campaign than Ted Cruz, because you are exactly right: This is the closest in our lifetimes we have ever been to Ronald Reagan.
***snip***
But for those of you that conservatism's the answer and conservatism is the way, you have no choice here. Ted Cruz has got to be your guy. There's nobody even close. Nobody.

Except he’s correct.
Here at FR I’ve spent years discussing candidates and conservatism. Donald is not a conservative, he has just touched on a few topics that resonate beyond conservatives (immigration, islam, etc.).
I will vote for him if need be, nobody is perfect and either one is not Bernie/Hillary. That said, Cruz IS the only conservative.
I know you and know you can do better.
But, perhaps you're like me and just a bit tired.
This thread is a perfect illustration and example of WHY Liberty and a Constitutional Republic are forever gone in this country.
We no longer have any common foundation IN ANYTHING except whatever political messiah we zealously loft as our only hope of salvation.
A movement this divided amongst itself has no ability to stand against any enemy whatsoever, whether domestic or foreign.
America as you knew it, is over. Which is one reason why Sanders or Hillary is your next Dear Leader.
I want a POTUS who has not set foot in D.C. Since that’s impossible, I’ll take Citizen Trump who is in no way responsible for the mess the Federal Govt is in right now.

CRUZ or Lose.
Very well stated - I agree.
Too early for these kind of polls. Look what one debate might have done to Rubio.
It is not Freepers, who, by virtue of that status alone would have no standing, that would bring a case and need be worried about.
This is true. Cruz is the most conservative candidate in the race.
All correct. Just like Goldwater. A true conservative.
Reagan did not win 45 states because he was a conservative. He won 45 states because he was a nationalist.
Nationalists don’t vote for Trade Promotion Authority. Their families don’t promote North American transnational structures.
>>Just a shame heâs not constitutionally eligible.<<
Hide and watch. As much as folks parrot this falsehood, ain’t gonna change a thing. To bad...so sad.
you speak of isolationists in the manner of 1938
I have priorities that stand above whatever Humpty Dumpty Limbaugh says “conservatism” is.
The poll may be iffin’ early, but Cruz is still less “iffy” than then the other guy running against The Bern at this iffin’ point.
Just iffin’ Sayin’
I saw a video on YouTube the other day of Rush saying on an earlier podcast that he knows Donald Trump personally and that Trump was not liberal. Now according to Rush, Trump isn’t conservative enough. Well, for me and my family, Donald Trump IS conservative enough. And there is no one, Rush Limbaugh, or anyone else who will tell us we aren’t voting conservative, unless we vote for their lawyer and politician, Ted Cruz.
That's as reasonable a position as any espoused on FR.
Good point! Here's a thought, if we can help the MSM take out Trump, and support the fellow FReepers who want to get rid of Cruz, then let the open borders commie Rubio self destruct, that will leave the door wide open for the election of............Hmmmm, forgot about that little item.
A lot could happen. Hillary could get indicted. Trump finally says something that does him in. Breitbart releases that piece on Cruz they say they are holding on to.
IMO, it's best to not look past the nomination at this point. Most of the polls for Iowa were incorrect. Not sure how New Hampshire came out in the end.
So true and it's baffling why more do not see or appreciate this fact.
It’s funny how the Cruzers now are in love with Rush. Just last week a whole lot of you were all over him calling him a Rubio supporter. I heard his show and he speaks positively of all candidates. Just because he threw your guy a bone, you practically melt.
