Ted Cruz's critics are wasting no time hitting him in South Carolina.
American Future Fund, a conservative group that spent heavily against Cruz in Iowa, will begin airing a TV commercial in South Carolina that labels Cruz as "weak" on national security -- a damaging label in military-heavy South Carolina. The spot ties Cruz to Bernie Sanders, the liberal insurgent who's gaining momentum in the Democratic primary, and President Barack Obama. "Ted Cruz talks tough on national security. But look at his record. Cruz voted with Bernie Sanders against defense spending," the ad says. "Cruz sided with Obama to weaken our ability to track terrorists."
The commercial also attempts to paint Cruz as soft on undocumented immigrants, an issue where he has painted himself as the GOP field's strongest candidate of border security -- as well as its strongest opponent of "amnesty" for people who entered the country illegally. The issue is a high priority for GOP voters, particularly in conservative South Carolina.

I thought I was reading this morning where Ted had a new commercial out that was very good against Trump.
What goes around comes around.
Yup.
Specious claims made by selectively taking a vote out of context of why Ted Cruz made the vote and then making the false claim that he aligns with Bernie.
This group is not conservative, it’s a front for the GOP-E!
Cruz is not weak on defense, and this Canadian thing is just getting tiresome.
There are plenty of legitimate lines of attack on Cruz and anyone else. Stick to those, and your money will be much better spent.
A “conservative” group?
No it is not. Another lie.
I heard this ad this morning. The problem for the PAC is that, for the accusations to be credible, they must bear some kernel of truth. The portrait they paint of Cruz is too out of phase with his known conservative record to be effective.
What’s Ted ever done for veterans, I wonder?
$6 million in one night. Trump!
There’s an anti-Trump PAC that is kicking up another gear as well - led by someone named Katie Packer. Twitter noise is she works for Pro-Rubio company called WWP
This foundation/fund/group is from Iowa and is most closely associated with the Santorum campaign. Santorum endorsed Rubio, ergo the attempt to knee-cap Cruz here comes in a roundabout way from a Rubio supporter.
\Strange bedfellows
Who does American Future Fund support? Guarantee you it isn’t a Conservative.
Sounds like a Bush front group - these PACS are becoming the bane of our democracy - as much as they have a right to free speech and all.
Based on your assumption that voters in SC are even aware of any Senators record, much less one from Texas...
What has Trump ever done for conservatism? Nada.
Well Cruz did once suggest that Vets sell cookies to raise funding. He expanded on that statement again later in the same speech.

“What has Trump ever done for conservatism? Nada.”
Trump owes Conservatism something?
Bake sales are the answer eh?
Well, it sounds like not everyone in Iowa is happy about Cruz’s win there:
The Americann Future Fund was founded by individuals who worked for Mitt Romney’s 2008 bid for the Republican U.S. Presidential nomination. Nick Ryan, an adviser to Republican US Representative Jim Nussle, founded the organization in 2007, with Nicole Schlinger, a GOP leader in Iowa, as its president. Its current president is Iowa Republican state Sen. Sandra Greiner
If he’s gonna lay claim to the mantle he should be able to show more past support for conservatism than is shown by actively combatting it by donating to Clinton, Schumer, et al., no?
Ted is more than weak on defense, he is often AWOL. His election to Senator did not come with a pass so he can run for President. The guy doesn't take his responsibilities seriously. That is only one of the reasons why I can't support him.
I will admit, he had me at first, but then I started looking deeper, and the more I saw, the less I liked him. When confronted by controversy, you can see this "great debater" start thinking and you hear a lot of "uh, uh, uh"! He has to think too much of how to dig out of his hole.
The Canadian thing isn't on my radar so much, as we already have a Kenyan in the White Hut. I just don't want another lying lawyer! Trump isn't perfect. But, he is a winner. Ted would NEVER be elected POTUS. He is just too smarmy!
From Politico:
Ted Cruz the senator: Heard but not seen
The Texas Republican seriously lags most of his colleagues in attending hearings and casting votes.
Ted Cruz came to Washington two-and-a-half years ago pledging to be the anti-senator. But he's been more like the no-show senator.
The Texas Republican seriously lags most of his colleagues in attending hearings and casting votes in what has been a Senate career long on rhetoric and short on Senate business.
He's skipped the vast majority of Armed Services Committee hearings, is below-average in attendance on his other major committees and ranks 97th during the first three months of this year in showing up for roll call votes on the Senate floor. ... -Read more: http://www.politico.com/story/2015/04/ted-cruz-2016-senate-vote-record-117201#ixzz3zniXIgtR
