Major General James Martin Jr., fainted at the podium as he was discussing the Air Force budget.

His aid looks like she could be Richard Moll's sister.
The good news is he’s a bean-counter....not aircrew.
I think she had different hair in Fifth Element
That is truly hilarious — best comment of the day.
I think this just happened after somebody told him the Obama administration requires that his budget would have to account for climate change too.
I attended a wedding once .... way back in the day when not all churches were air-conditioned & this was a small one - the bride commented that she was watching the sweat drip off the groom’s nose. Anyway, two of the groomsmen fainted. One went down & was hauled out & about 5 minutes later, then 2nd passed out .... he unfortunately cut his chin open when he hit the floor so he was bleeding fairly profusely initially. One of the ushers at the back of the church was a short, barrel shaped guy who was evidently strong as an ox. He would trot down the aisle, hoist the groomsman over his shoulder like a sack of feed, and tote them out. The wedding barely missed a beat. The talk at the reception was about “not locking your knees”!
HAAA! awesome
and now a word from our sponsor.. Mother’s Cookies.
He must have participated in a typical Air Force tac eval. While I was done in the Wing CP for up to four days straight, it cracked me up that the zoomies were bitching about 12 hour shifts.
It was no big deal, I was fresh out of college, and could function with intermittent cat naps after midnight. For a year and a half, there were two officers in my battery with the proper clearance: my battery commander and me. He needed to be out in the field doing his job, my platoon sergeant and squad leaders did just fine without me.
It was more of an extended camping trip for our platoons, the evaluators might check on us once or twice, and we knew how to put on a dog and pony show for them.
I didn't volunteer for it, but I was pressed into service as the NBC warfare officer...I made a suggestion on an input during my first tac eval, and the Wing Cdr went with it, lol. His guy overreacted to the input, and I gave him good reasons not to. Thirty minutes later, I heard his voice boom out with "as long as I'm in command, I want to see that Army LT whenever there is an NBC input!" It was a welcome diversion, it was a piece of cake, as that was one of my extra duties at my unit. I would later parlay that into a job on Battalion staff, and got a week in Oberammergau at the NATO school.
Hell, I didn't mind being out of field duty for four days.
I know it’s what I was trying to say as well - you just posted it more succintly and a mere 8 seconds prior to me - thus my follow on post about the 8 seconds. Has to do with blood pooling in the legs because the veins are cut off by the pressure so no return flow.
Active Duty ping.
I love your wedding story.
I was married during a blizzard—lots of stories.
These are the weddings people remember, even many years later.
.
I’d be troubled too if I looked like Jack Black.
Don’t worry Air Force! Donald Trump is coming to save the day!
He saw the numbers for the F-35 and discovered he’d have to scrap everything else to pay for it?
Who’s miss sourpuss behind him?
There’s another reason I remember that wedding. The wedding was in NC and they had Hardees .... there were none in our area yet so we had never eaten at one before. We ate lunch there on the way & it was quite the treat .... the burgers were huge, juicy & delicious. I was chowing down and then I realized that grease was running out of the back of the wrapper and down the front of my dress. There were no extra clothes, so I mopped up what I could & had to wear a big old grease stain that day. I think I was about 11.
We have a wedding in the family coming up in early May - looking forward to it along with any associated “adventures”! :-)
