One demographic that Trump isn’t winning, is the alleged conservative media class.
That’s been one of the biggest surprises to me. It’s just amazing how many of them totally misjudged the depth of Trump’s popular appeal, and now find themselves cross-grain to the majority of rank and file conservatives.
You nailed it. I am now eager to listen to Rush tomorrow.
The “conservative media class” are very image conscious and most felt that supporting Cruz gave them the bragging rights of supporting the candidate that claimed the mantel of most conservative early on. Now that it is becoming obvious that the likely winner of this contest is the other guy... a bunch of them will be pivoting to Trump and pretending like he was always secretly their candidate. That is called momentum. Even the editor of the National Review looked like he was eating crow tonight. They tried to stop the Donald in his tracks and just found out that their influence is currently negligible and dropping fast.
They know Trump is not a conservative. He couldn’t give a damn about saving babies or championing traditional marriage. He doesn’t care about limiting the reach and scope of the federal government. He just wants to start a political dynasty.
They stand to loose influence. There will be a total realignment of the media, government and GOP. Out with the old and in with the new.
Its a new day in America!
Why is that a surprise? Fox is in for Robot, CNN for Cankles, ABC for Cankles, MSNBC mostly for Sanders, CBS nobody watching.
Open borders, nanny state and the accompanying debt spending, the avowed destruction of the middle class; who wants them on board?
What's really fascinating is, to pay their own freight, the MSM has to give Trump free media viz the Stern Effect, yet he's giving them a fraction of his own money for campaign ad time.
That alone is worth gloating over.
Their desire to be The Supreme Authorities blinds them to reality. It’s quite amazing. It’s making clear that the desire for truth leavened with humility, and the ability to say “wow, I was wrong, but now I’ve learned” are essential. It reveals that the conservative “experts” are a lot more self serving and biased than some or many of us suspected. Toss in some “power mad” too.
