Bernie Sanders Prevails and G.O.P. Has 3-Way Tie as 3 New Hampshire Towns Vote
New York Times ^ | February 9, 2015 | Jess Bidgood

Posted on 02/09/2016 5:28:11 AM PST by Cincinatus' Wife

The results are in.

Or, at least, the first results from the tiny New Hampshire towns - Dixville Notch, Millsfield and Hart's Location - that practice the time-honored tradition of voting at midnight to claim the distinction of casting the election's first primary ballots.

Senator Bernie Sanders of Vermont emerged as the Democrats' big winner of the wee hours on Tuesday, with 17 votes in total, while Hillary Clinton received nine.

On the Republican side, Senator Ted Cruz of Texas, Donald J. Trump and Gov. John Kasich of Ohio each had nine votes.

Oh, and in Hart's Location, a Democrat named Mark Stewart Greenstein received two votes....

...New Hampshire primaries can be unpredictable, particularly in an election when the occupant in the White House is a lame duck. With independents able to vote in either party, predicting the universe of likely voters is tricky.

So the polls heading into Tuesday's vote are a window, but an opaque one. Donald J. Trump seems poised for a win if the polls are to be believed, but by what margin remains to be seen. Another question is whether his last-minute use of an expletive to describe Senator Ted Cruz of Texas, first used by a woman in the crowd at Mr. Trump's final rally on Monday, will sink in with voters.....

.....does anyone really care about Cruz/pussygate......those with real problems know the Cruz people are the most out-of-touch busybodies in the nation....

S-o-o-o right. Cruzers are really scary. Cruz at the debate: If the US is attacked, after careful consideration of the affect on families and the environment I will make a careful and considerate response.

Straight out of The Hallowed Book of Cruz:

For the Lord has sent unto us a messiah from Havana by way of Calgary yeah unto the very gates of Austin. We only have to believe and accept Cruz into our hearts and we will be saved and Cruz will heal our nation. Yea send him unto the very gates of the heathens in Washington. He will smite the liberals and smite the GOPes and yea even the RINOs, and yea they will feel his mighty power.

He will be seated on a mighty throne in Washington and the members of Congress and yea even the priests of the Supreme Court and the hoards of bureaucrats shall bow their knee unto to him. For he is the mighty Cruz and the Deliverer and Defender of the Constitution.

For the Lord has sent us a mighty naturalized citizen from Canada unto the United States to deliver us from our wicked ways. He shall show us the true way as none other. Woe unto those with New York values. For they are an abomination unto his eyes.

For unto him and his followers the Lord has shown the true way of conservatism. All others shall be cast into the lake of fire. Yea only believe and the mighty and true Cruz will deliver us from abomination.

============================================

This fairy tale brought to you by Goldman Sachs and the Mayor of Calgary.
We now return you to our regular programing. Go Trump! (hat tip r-barton)

This guy is scary.

In context...it means girlie....nothing more.

Why are these "hear no0 evil" people pretending they are so knowledgeable about bad words to get to their desired result, i.e.,Trump is a very bad man.

look why don’t you save your foul language for twitter?? Do you have to destroy every web site? Does it make you feel better to use bad words? I remember my son when he was about 8-10 years old trying them out. But fortunately he grew up and if he uses them, it is in private.

I’d be inclined to agree with that I think. You either support Trump or you don’t. With his rhetoric etc... if you’re not already in his camp, I don’t think he can sway many people.

I can’t believe that nine people in a tundra hamlet hugging the Canadian border have even HEARD of John Kasich, let alone voted for him.

Last night on CNN, some idiot they had on said:

“I can’t believe this election has come down to a Commie Nut and Douchebag with 2 squirrels on his head.”

No one called him on it. I wish I could remember his name.

I can’t believe a candidate has so little respect for his fans that he uses foul language.

I'm with you. This recent string of obscene language is troubling to me. The men I respect the most would never use language like that in the presence of a woman. Could you see President Reagan using that kind of language in mixed company.

Kaisich scared me. I really think there is something to his friendship to Gary Condit. If I recall they roomed together and recently after the Shandra Levey case he left DC.

“Classless boor”? You really posted that thinking that it doesn’t sound like something straight out of Downton Abby?

I’m sooooo hurt.

No wonder the right loses so many battles, we are populated by a bunch of wimps. People that seriously thought that Bible verses would stop gay marriage, or that “turning the other cheek” is an actual campaign strategy. People more afraid of church ladies.

If a curse word makes your tummy hurt so badly, then what the hell are you doing in the middle of a political war?

Much of the content of this email is reprinted from the Investors Business Daily. I leave you to draw your own conclusions.

Bernie Sanders before political office
Thomas Lifson / January 31, 2016

Who is Bernie Sanders?
Before he achieved political office, Bernie Sanders never had a steady paycheck in the first four decades of his life.

Now, he aspires to the highest office in the land where he could play a decisive role in shaping the circumstances under which the rest of us work and receive (when we can) our paychecks. It is a sobering record, as Investor’s Business Daily explains it:

His family managed to send him to the University of Chicago. Despite a prestigious degree, however, Sanders failed to earn a living, even as an adult. It took him 40 years to collect his first steady paycheck — and it was a government check.

“I never had any money my entire life,” Sanders told Vermont public TV in 1985, after settling into his first real job as mayor of Burlington.

Sanders spent most of his life as an angry radical and agitator who never accomplished much of anything. And yet now he thinks he deserves the power to run your life and your finances — “We will raise taxes;” he confirmed Monday, “yes, we will.”
One of his first jobs was registering people for food stamps, and it was all downhill from there.

Sanders took his first bride to live in a maple sugar shack with a dirt floor, and she soon left him. Penniless, he went on unemployment. Then he had a child out of wedlock. Desperate, he tried carpentry but could barely sink a nail. “He was a shi**y carpenter,” a friend told Politico Magazine. “His carpentry was not going to support him, and didn’t.”

Then he tried his hand freelancing for leftist rags, writing about “masturbation and rape” and other crudities for $50 a story. He drove around in a rusted-out, Bondo-covered VW bug with no working windshield wipers.

Friends said he was “always poor” and his “electricity was turned off a lot.” They described him as a slob who kept a messy apartment — and this is what his friends had to say about him.

The only thing he was good at was talking … non-stop … about socialism and how the rich were ripping everybody off. “The whole quality of life in America is based on greed,” the bitter layabout said. “I believe in the redistribution of wealth in this nation.”

So he tried politics, starting his own socialist party. Four times he ran for Vermont public office, and four times he lost — badly. He never attracted more than single-digit support — even in the People’s Republic of Vermont.

In his 1971 bid for U.S. Senate, the local press said the 30-year-old “Sanders describes himself as a carpenter who has worked with ‘disturbed children.’ ” In other words, a real winner.

He finally wormed his way into the Senate in 2006, where he still ranks as one of the poorest members of Congress. Save for a municipal pension, Sanders lists no assets in his name.

Well, at least he hasn’t pulled a Clinton and enriched himself via influence-peddling. But it is quite clear that envy is a deep part of his psychology. That has become the source of focus in his life, something that obviously was lacking until he got into politics.

Can a man who was unable to earn a decent living, unable to keep himself in orderly environment, without political office really be the chief executive of the United States Government?

What has he got against carpenters? Personally I'd rather see a whole lot more carpenters and plumbers running for office, and a lot fewer oxygen-wasting Ivy League lawyers.

Lowering the bar just a bit, are we? Can you document a single instance when Presidents Washington, Jefferson, Lincoln, Coolidge, or Reagan ever resorted to using these curse words, especially against members of their own party, that you now seem so flippant and fine with just because your choice nominee of the day utters them?

If the situation were reversed and Cruz had used the same salty language to label Trump, do you expect us to believe you’d be championing Cruz for “not being a wimp”?

I still happen to like Trump and he’s my second choice for the Republican nomination, but I’m not going to turn a blind eye and rewrite the standards of common sense decency just because one of my faves engage in bad behavior.

"In his landmark biography of Washington, Ron Chernow summarizes a few contemporary recollections of Washington’s reaction when he encountered Lee abandoning the field:

"You damned poltroon," Washington rejoined, "you never tried them!" Always reluctant to resort to profanities, the chaste Washington cursed at Lee "till the leaves shook on the tree," recalled General [Charles] Scott. "Charming! Delightful! Never have I enjoyed such swearing before or since." Lafayette said it was the only time he ever heard Washington swear. "I confess I was disconcerted, astonished, and confounded by the words and the manner in which His Excellency accosted me," Lee recalled. "

Regan outtakes (cover your ears):

I dont want to post a wall of text, but you can easily find instances of virtually every president doing this. Only a complete novice of political history acts like it's new.

"If the situation were reversed and Cruz had used the same salty language to label Trump, do you expect us to believe you’d be championing Cruz for “not being a wimp”?"

LOL! Am I Ned Flanders? I would comment that he seems to has dropped the holier-than-thou act, and then tell him to go f-off. Because I dont faint hearing curse words. I dont even think pussy is even a real curse word!

As pointed out George W used foul language and foul hand gestures.

You’re just made because your guy got slammed... again... How many guys did you have this cycle? Perry, Walker, Cruz?
