“In real life, expletives are often used as a form of aggression or cruelty.”
___

That’s been my experience in life. Cussing is a bully’s weapon.

Cruz hesitated on his answer because I guess how something sounds or is deemed politically correct is more important than the truth of what he believes. Or even worse, he doesn't know what he really believes or would do.

I don’t think Trump is ignorant at all.

And if I am the last holdout on this issue, so be it. I don't really give a damn.

ohhhh, so it's the degree of swearing it's opposed to then

the WaPo never struck me as a moral authority anyway

You Cruzbots need to man up and quit acting like little girls. Come to think of it the lady has a point. In the latest debate when Ted was asked his position on “waterboarding” he quoted a statement by John McCain and basically hid behind John’s skirt. Shame, shame, shame.

When Trump was asked the same question in regards to “waterboarding” he said hell yes and more if need be. That shows true leadership by Trump and not hiding behind someone else like Ted did. So yes the lady does have a point.

Let us hope not. In real life, expletives are often used as a form of aggression or cruelty.

I had a classmate in junior high school back in the Sixties that used expletives as punctuation.

In the Eighties I cut a good friend loose due to his utterly foul mouth because I did not want my young impressionable daughter to hear any of it. I am sure his children were a conundrum to the teachers when they reached school age.

Mister Gerson needs to crawl down from his tower and wake to reality. Decorum is a good thing but let's not blind ourselves to the way the world actually works.

The morals of BJ Clinton with the narcissistic messiah complex of Obama.

Don’t like Michael Gerson at all.

On the other hand, I am tired of coarse. A little judiciously used can be effective. But we are well past that ...

I think it is idiotic to give away votes s cheaply. Trump allowed his bemusement To get the best of him. He did well all day. Felt like he let his guard down in the last 20 minutes of the day.

Disappointing really. Should not lose votes so cheaply. Hopefully he won’t be lamenting this next week when he heads down a South. He will not get away with any of this in a week.

I’ll tell you what a ‘species of disrespect’ is, its flooding my town, state and Country with third worlders. Cursing is not a big concern of mine.

Sure, because ignorant people become billionaires all the time. Hey, anyone can do it.

Seriously, the Washington Compost!? Sure, they’re impartial. They don’t have a dog (maybe a hag though) in this hunt.

They don’t want the apple cart upset anymore than all the other whores in DC.

Another PC press nitwit chimes in with a complaint. Their real complaint is they can’t cow Trump like they can most every politician on the Right. He fights back. That disturbs them and it defeats the only power they have over politicians on the Right.

In my experience, a foul mouth is a cover for a crass inability to articulate fully one's position.

I've observed this to be the case many times in my long life, and exceptions are rare.

I've also learned that those who use profanity in professional situations generally lack dignity and are not deserving of trust.

Profanity in certain military situations is, however, entirely appropriate; and, as a veteran, I could repeat some genuinely funny stories. (I'll choose instead to preserve the dignity of this forum.)

Trump is one of the laziest candidates I have ever seen. After all these months, he still hasn’t bothered to learn very much about the issues. He doesn’t understand conservatism. He’s just an empty, angry, $4,000 suit.

Patton used profanity so his soldiers would remember what he said.
