After last week's surprise statements by two top generals that women should sign up for the draft just like men, Sen. Ted Cruz has set himself apart from his Republican rivals in the race for president by saying unequivocally that the idea is "nuts."
When questioned at a Senate committee hearing last week, the Commandant of the Marine Corps. Gen. Robert Neller and Army Chief of Staff Gen. Mark Milley both said they thought women should have to register for Selective Service when they turn eighteen, just like men.
During Saturday's presidential candidate debate in Manchester, N.H., everyone on stage who spoke seemed to be in favor of it.
"I have to admit, as I was sitting there listening to that conversation, my reaction was, 'Are you guys nuts?'" Cruz said of his rivals at a town hall style gathering in New Hampshire the next day. At a later campaign event he addressed the issue again, saying:...

I agree with Ted on this, however...if women want to be treated equally they should have to bear the same burdens.
They asked for it.
Trump had a good answer as well by saying he loves women and wants to talk to the generals.
Scott Brown and Trump are all about the white women vote.
Women and children first.
The feminists asked for it...most women have been too busy working or raising their children to pay attention to feminist weirdos.
Everyone’s daughter didn’t ask to be in military combat, just a few feminazis who want to make the “statement” but would never join the military themselves. They should be rejected and the military should roll back the change in policy.
Not all women asked for it.
Actually, there’s a R Congressman who is making all kinds of waves about females in combat roles; as well as his being against a draft for women.
He’s Duncan Hunter. He’s a retired Marine .. and very pro-military. I used to be in his district, but the left got ahold of re-districting, and I’m out of his district. However, he still sends me stuff, and he always answers any of my questions. He’s a really good guy. His dad was a Senator; I had the pleasure of meeting on a trip to DC in 2001.
You are correct. I meant the feminazis asked for it.
yeah well, working has affected raising their children, at least in jobs that require a lot of OT to make it “big”.
and the ones who suffer are the 200 pound men who won’t be able to be carried off the field of battle.
but i forget, TV and movies now show us that 110 pounds women can beat up 10 men without losing a breath.
I was told so many times to watch Rhonda Roussy’s fights. She was this and that.
Maybe against women, but she hits like a girl and when I boxed she could have never been standing if I threw a flurry at her.
We didn’t all ask for it. Don’t punish all of us for the actions of a few idiots.
You could require women to sign up for the draft if their parents vote democrat.
I remember Duncan Hunter...he did a great job representing his district in San Diego. Wish we had more like him.
Crazy stuff.
Conscription happens because the Army and Marine Corps are short on fighters. Not to fill the rear echelon ranks.
Waste of time and money when half the draftees can not be fighters.
LOL...we’d win every time!
There are quite a few freepers saying women should be in combat.
“After last week’s surprise statements by two top generals that women should sign up for the draft just like men, Sen. Ted Cruz has set himself apart from his Republican rivals in the race for president by saying unequivocally that the idea is “nuts.” “
Then get rid of the whole draft, remove females right to vote, or not allow women to sign up for student loans since men cant unless they register.
Nice graphic...post it far and wide!
