Rand Paul is out, so what does this mean for the realistic future of 2016? It means what I've been saying for a while, Senator Ted Cruz will take his campaign all the way. There is now pretending that Ted Cruz is a libertarian, he is as conservative as they come, in the traditional sense.
The difference between Cruz and Paul though is this; Cruz never pretended to be something he wasn't, he has much adoration for libertarians, and has stated time and time again that when certain challenges come about, there is a need for a coalition. Senator Rand Paul on the other had was different, Paul over and over again denounced being a libertarian when it was unpopular to appear as when, and then whenever he needed a boost in support, he would toss around the word âlibertarianâ out of style. To simplify it, Ted Cruz is the friend that accepts you for who you are, while Rand Paul was the friend that would ignore you except when you were needed to advance his agenda.
As the race for the White House continues, Ted Cruz is now the only Republican left who can maintain the Reagan Coalition he has been fighting to piece together. While there are enough reasons libertarians would consider Cruz as a viable option, a honest assessment of Cruz from a libertarian lens has almost always been dismissed. Now is the time however to reconsider. I've stated in the past why I think Cruz will be the most libertarian-leaning president since Coolidge, but what are others saying?

We are here and ready.......TED CRUZ 2016
Ridiculous lies
He details the libertarian shift over the last several years from Rand Paul to Ted Cruz.
Very detailed. Very informative.
Obama, supposedly, offered a birth certificate to prove his bona fides to the world. Cruz can’t do that because his BC is Canadian. Please stop and think how this will be used in November.
It is a general election, you have to cast a wide net.
Libertarians aint so bad, maybe a bit dopey...
But they aint tyrants
Time will tell.
Do you honestly believe he does not has a US BC?
OMG!!
When CO legalized weed it proved the laboratory system worked.
It’s a great argument for Ted Cruz! Ted Cruz’s stragedy is to revive the Reagan Coalition. Liberty voters are a key component of the Reagan Coalition, and they are coming over to him in droves. The evangelicals who normally stay at home are also coming out for Cruz. The strategy is starting to pay real dividends and it will allow Ted to win without having to move to the “mushy middle” in the general. A win-win for conservatives.
Yep. Me, too.
But I don't think Cruz can win a national election. I'll be proven wrong if he wins a national primary election.
BIRTHERS ARE INSANE!!
Read the article.
What if Cruz had been born in Kenya? How would that be different? What if his mother died two days after his birth and he was raised by a Saudi father in the Kingdom? Is he still eligible? Do you even know why the natural born citizen clause is in the Constitution?
Reagan was born in Illinois.
I like it, Cruz or lose!
If my mom is a US citizens a drops me on russian soil that does not make me a russian unless russia offers me that and ultimately it is the individual who chooses the allegiance.
Ted has severed any ties to Canada
-- I know that he is a bonafide US Natual born citizen. --
Yes, you do. The Supreme Court disagrees, but you know better.
one trick pony needs to learn a new trick...
To an American citizen, which makes him a natural born citizen.
Inconvenient (for you and Mr. Trump), but a fact.
Debate on issues/policy difference, not this nonsense.
What policy issue do you have with Senator Cruz? His stance on abortion? Maybe his stance on reining in the unconstitutional executive orders of Obama? Perhaps its his stance on eminent domain? Or maybe his stance on reforming our tax system?
What exactly do you dislike about Senator Cruz SO much that you have to try and question his citizenship and eligibility to be President?
The usual and customary practice is for the baby to be issued a BC at the hospital. Cruz was born in a Canadian hospital. Moreover, he was a Canadian citizen at birth. I find it interesting that the so-called “Constitutional” candidate as well as all of his followers are so willing to ignore the very Constitution they claim to support.
