Rand Paul is out, so what does this mean for the realistic future of 2016? It means what I've been saying for a while, Senator Ted Cruz will take his campaign all the way. There is now pretending that Ted Cruz is a libertarian, he is as conservative as they come, in the traditional sense.
The difference between Cruz and Paul though is this; Cruz never pretended to be something he wasn't, he has much adoration for libertarians, and has stated time and time again that when certain challenges come about, there is a need for a coalition. Senator Rand Paul on the other had was different, Paul over and over again denounced being a libertarian when it was unpopular to appear as when, and then whenever he needed a boost in support, he would toss around the word âlibertarianâ out of style. To simplify it, Ted Cruz is the friend that accepts you for who you are, while Rand Paul was the friend that would ignore you except when you were needed to advance his agenda.
As the race for the White House continues, Ted Cruz is now the only Republican left who can maintain the Reagan Coalition he has been fighting to piece together. While there are enough reasons libertarians would consider Cruz as a viable option, a honest assessment of Cruz from a libertarian lens has almost always been dismissed. Now is the time however to reconsider. I've stated in the past why I think Cruz will be the most libertarian-leaning president since Coolidge, but what are others saying?
Nick Gillespie over in an op-ed for the Daily Beast stated: ...

Born a citizen, is not a natural born citizen. To think that shows a gross lack of understanding concerning this issue, and makes your choice suspect on many levels.
And, as someone else mentioned, his position on states rights is a bigger for liberty voters.
Funny that you think someone eligible to run for Prime Minister of Canada a year ago is eligible to run for president of the United States today.
Canada offered Cruz dual citizenship and he took it so would I, heck that just makes it easier to go on that fishing trip in Alberta.
He severed any ties to Canada when he decided to run for POTUS.
His allegiance has always been to America. Giving up the rights the dominion bestowed on him sealed it forever
Cruz was born in Canada. Inconvenient, but a fact.
And eligible to run for the Presidency. Inconvenient, but a fact.
He was born a Cuban citizen too. A tru tri-citizen at birth!
If someone is born a citizen, and therefore does not need to be naturalized, then they are a natural born citizen.
That is a lie
and you are attacking a good American with falsehoods.
Save the attacks for Bernie or the witch
Libertarians USED TO BE for open borders. Until it was pointed out that this only works in a state that doesn’t HAND OUT GOODIES to everyone who drags their haggard ass North. Grow a brain.
The Supreme Court disagrees with you.
“There is now pretending that Ted Cruz is a libertarian, he is as conservative as they come, in the traditional sense. “

I don’t lie, and I’m trying like hell to keep my country from embracing lawlessness for short term gain.
That would have to do with Cuban law not Mr Cruz, and I have no idea what the Cuban law is but I know that he is a bonafide US Natual born citizen.
I am Confident that ANY rights Cuba may have or may not have offered were not accepted by Mr Cruz
Bernie? Hillary and even Trump are probably happy to play footsie with cuba
Read the article. The author makes a convincing case on why so many from the liberty movement are endorsing and voting for Ted Cruz.
Ted gave up any rights the Dominion offered him in 2014
Cruz has a Canadian birth certificate. What document does he display to show he is a U.S. citizen? How do you get a U.S. passport for foreign travel with that? Does he show his mother’s birth certificate? Awkward.
Naturalized at birth is such a commonly accepted practice that I find it strange that you aren’t aware of it. To be clear- natural born citizen means that citizenship is obtained without the need of statute or decree. Cruz needed a statute just to be a citizen. He is in no way possible a natural born citizen. To even think that is ridiculous on its face.
Not sure that's a really good argument for Ted Cruz.
Slippery, slick and owned by Goldman Sachs... not so libertarian.
You lie again
