PETERBOROUGH, N.H.-Ted Cruz on Sunday said he opposes requiring women to register for a potential draft, breaking with Marco Rubio, Jeb Bush and Chris Christie, all of whom indicated support for opening up the Selective Service to women during Saturday night's debate.
"I have to admit, as I was sitting there listening to that conversation, my reaction was, 'Are you guys nuts?'" Cruz said Sunday, speaking at a town hall here. "Listen, we have had enough with political correctness, especially in the military. Political correctness is dangerous. And the idea that we would draft our daughters to forcibly bring them into the military and put them in close combat, I think is wrong, it is immoral, and if I am president, we ain't doing it."
To applause, Cruz went on to note that he is a father to two daughters, and he wants them to follow their dreams.
"But the idea that their government would forcibly put them in a foxhole with a 220-pound psychopath trying to kill them doesn't make any sense at all," he said.
The previous night, at the presidential debate, Rubio said he had no problem with women in combat, and added, "I do believe Selective Service should be opened up for both men and women in the case a draft is ever instituted."
Bush made a similar argument but stressed that there is no draft and he is not calling for reinstating one.
Christie was less explicit, but more broadly indicated openness to allowing women to register for the Selective Service.
Because they are going to slow someone’s grandsons down and get them killed.
Not if the grandsons are not there because someone’s granddaughters took their place.
What about this: https://www.washingtonpost.com/politics/pentagon-to-allow-transgender-members-to-serve-openly/2015/07/13/fe9b054a-298d-11e5-a5ea-cf74396e59ec_story.html
If transgenders can serve openly, then the rule is already there to draft women. If a person genetically a man claims to be a “woman” can be drafted, then women technically according to today’s definition, must sign up for selective service and can be drafted. That or genetic women who claim to be “men” must sign up. One or the other — either way it puts women or “women” in the potential draft selection.
And with a quote from a famous US Federal Marshal Samuel Gerard; “I don’t care!”
Because real men live to serve women, right?
“What are you, some kinda girly man? What if a nice normal girl just wants to get married and raise a family? Only a homo or a total statist would demand she be forced to be in the army.”
A girly man lives to be the shield for females because he thinks he will be rewarded with love and accolades while the state continues to give women more rights and power over him.
A homo jumps in front of a female and says “I’m happy to be your utility” thinking he is making himself look more attractive to them.
Only a simp gushes at the idea of being forced into service while she gets to kick back and think about what pair of shoes she’s going to buy today.
“Have you ever heard the expression, âwomen and children firstâ?
That was when we were a sane society.
“
Why? Because she has two breasts and a vagina? That makes her special?
Male = disposable utility.
Female = more rights, more privileges, and less responsibility for them.
Cruz is really reeling in the limp-wristed do anything for female validation vote.
“Because real men live to serve women, right?”
Because real men, at least in Western Culture, are supposed to protect women, children and the innocent.
“Because real men, at least in Western Culture, are supposed to protect women, children and the innocent.”
While the state screws them and gives women greater privileges and legal power over them, turning them into little more than pack animals to prop up females and their real husbands in government.
Yeah “real men”, huh? More like real suckers.
If it becomes necessary to reinstate the draft we will be in dire straits. It makes no sense to exempt half of the population from being required to “pay the rent” in an extreme emergency. Putting women in Selective Service rolls would just speed up the process in an emergency.
I do not think women belong in combat and most would not want to be. I’m just saying equality works both ways. You can’t pick and choose where you want to be “equal”.
My attitude comes from generations of my family spending their lives serving this nation. I expect nothing less from the next generation.
Then you should know that drafts are used to populate combat arms units for the simple reason that when people see Mass casualties being taken by combat arms units enlistees gravitate away from 11B.
So what are you going to do with all of those women you were forced to draft because you sure as hell ain’t making shooters out of 99.99% of them?
