GOP presidential candidate Dr. Ben Carson suggested that the controversy over Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX)'s campaign action during the Iowa caucus might be on the minds of voters ahead of the New Hampshire primary on Tuesday.
"I suspect it may well," Carson told Breitbart News. "We were in church this morning and the minister sort of alluded to it, talking about Christian values and politics."
Just ahead of the vote, the Cruz campaign sent out notes and voicemails to precinct captains telling them to tell Carson voters that he would be suspending his campaign and to support Cruz instead. The Cruz campaign has said it only passed along a news report from CNN.
"I've said all along that the evidence is pretty clear and it should be very easy for people to make a judgment on this," Carson said in response to a CNN statement, which it issued Saturday night that said Cruz "knowingly misstated" CNN's pre-caucus report.
"The only issue is, is this acceptable behavior to voters? Obviously, it's acceptable behavior to Washington politicians," he said.
The Washington Post reported Cruz approached Carson during a commercial break during the debate Saturday night and requested a private meeting.
Carson told Breitbart News that he hopes Cruz dismisses the staff that was involved in spreading the false report.
"I would like to see something happen that would more or less ensure that this kind of thing does not continue to happen," Carson explained when asked what he would like to see come out of a private meeting with Cruz.
"I kind of look at it when you find a problem, you fix it, you just don't sort of sweep it under the rug," Carson explained.

I have forgotten more Adventism than you’ll EVER know about the subject. As for your comment regarding Carson’s faith in context to the topic at hand, it had no relevance. Where he goes and does on Sunday or any other day of the week is his business. Remember, before pointing out specks in someone else’s eye, concern yourself with the log in your own. Especially when it comes to matters of faith questioning. BTW, as your being a Cruz supporter, you are fully aware that Heidi Cruz was raised an Adventist, right? Most of her family going back at least 2 generations were/are Adventist. One of her grandfathers was president of Loma Linda University. Her brother is on staff at Loma Linda University Hospital. Her father is a dentist educated at Loma Linda University School of Dentistry. He and his family having done many dental mission trips for the church via the school. All still practicing/believing SDA’s. Heidi herself may no longer be practicing but she still believes.
Haha, if you have forgotten more Adventism than I will ever know, than you should know what a major deal it is for Ben to worship with those who violate one of the 10 commandments. What if Ben worshipped with those who were worshipping a golden calf ( idolatry ), violating another commandment. Would that be no big deal. Does Ben put politics ahead of his faith?
The fact Mrs Cruz no longer is part of Adventism is a great thing. Hopefully she converts her family who may still be in darkness.
They called Carson's name loud and clear, he stoped, waited and continued to look back, waiting on Strump? That is the way I took it.
You have absolutely no idea what Dr. Carson was doing at a church on Sunday. You are assuming with your ‘What ifs’. For you to render judgement on his personal activities regarding his faith based on YOUR ‘suspicions’ and What if’s, tells me you definitely have an eye/log problem....like a modern day Pharisee. As for Adventists being in ‘darkness’, who are YOU to judge anyone’s spirituality?
If anyone teaches you need to keep the Sabbath after Jesus fulfilled the Mosaic law, they are teaching another Gospel per Paul.
Ellen G White was a false prophet and fooled many unfortunately.
I think if either one of them wanted additional attention, they would have thought of something more complimentary out on the stage. How silly to see a “staging” backstage. A lot of people don’t see the incident as a good thing for either of them, that it made them look “dumb”. Why would they stage that? It is obvious the incident was spotaneous.
In all fairness, I would say there are an equal number of Cruz supporters that believe the same....that there are anti-Cruz operatives that they call Trumpsters. There are people going over board on both sides as far as I can see.
But you can never be mistaken, that would be impossible.
Your opinion of and subsequent attack of Adventism and it’s millions of believers is duly noted. To ease your concern/fear of ‘Sabbath-keeping’ I’ll inform the Adventist powers-that-be that their historical support and endorsement of civil blue laws must be disavowed and.....oh,wait. Never-mind. Also please advise/warn Teddy and Heidi that soliciting and accepting ‘donations’ from Adventists and their institutions could prove disastrous to their spiritual well-being. The apostle Paul would NOT be pleased.....you have a blessed day.
