Trump has the ability to be in the moment. And contrary to the media narrative he is a true gentleman. These attributes are basic to negotiations of every possible stripe. Trump won the debate, BEFORE THE DEBATE EVEN STARTED.

This wasn’t a calculated decision. Trump did it instinctively. It struck him at the moment as the right thing to do.
Trump is sometimes rough around the edges. He’s also human and at times a very common normal guy.
It’s not nearly as all about him as some folks would like to believe.

Sorry, I wasn’t really paying much attention to what they said, other than they were not exactly charitable toward the debate management, saying they should have had a stage hand there or similar, to relay names as they were called. They definitely didn’t belittle Trump or Carson over it. Nor, I think, did they point out that others just walked on by...other than a mere mention of it, explaining what happened.

Funny, what I saw was Trump heard his name called, poked his head around the corner and did the “get out there” hand wave, then when his name was called a second time walked up to Dr. Carson and hung out with him until the last call was made.
