Few people will talk about this, and fewer will even want to acknowledge it, but what Donald Trump did before the debate even began shows the measure of a real man's worth.
Trump and Carson
At the beginning of the ABC debate, each of the candidates were being introduced in a specific order. The first name called to the stage was Chris Christie. The applause was loud and lingered through the time when Martha Raddatz called the second candidate Ben Carson.
Dr. Carson did not hear his name called (easy to understand why when you listen to the video) and stood in the entry-way. The moderators, with their backs to the candidates, didn't notice his absence and called the third name on the list, Ted Cruz.
Ted walked past Dr. Carson and onto the stage. Carson remained in the awkward, and embarrassing position, 'no-mans-land', on-camera but out of sight of the live audience.
What happened next shows the remarkable character of Donald Trump.
The fourth name called was Donald Trump, but by then the back-stage crew and candidates were aware of Dr. Carsons' position. Trump slowly approached, and then realized the embarrassing position of a fellow candidate hanging in the wind.
Trump showed his leadership by standing right next to his friend, and not walking onto the stage.
The other names continued to be called, and proceeded as mentioned. But not Donald Trump, he remained with his colleague thereby reducing the internal anxiety felt by Carson.
It would have been very easy for Trump to walk by Ben, just like all the other candidates did. But instead he chose to wait, and remove the embarrassment factor by infinite magnitudes.
Then, like a boss, when Dr. Carson was called to the stage, Trump waited and allowed Ben to get the audience response and appreciation. It takes a lot of courage to make split second decisions like this, and it shows a remarkable insight into the man's character.
Yep, my ex often said I was very trying!
In church, they call such a deed “grace.”
Then why walk forwards at all?
You must really hate the man to not give him his do
The same way they criticize Trump putting together an event for Veterans and raising over $6 million for groups that get the help directly where it's needed. And he did it not just with big donor checks. Little folk like myself were made to feel like part of that accomplishment with our small donations.
That's how you bring the country back, by having everyday people become part of something important.
What I noticed this time was that once Carson realized he missed his cue, he started walking out there but then they announced Ted Cruz so Carson immediately stopped and retreated back to the wings as Cruz blasted right past him. Then you have a stagehand in the background, trying to signal to Carson to get out there. Then they announce Trump who obviously realizes what is going on. Yes, Trump is well aware his name was called but he's not just going to walk on past Carson and leave him awkwardly standing there alone. So he stood next to Carson in the wings as both Rubio and Jebbie go right on by. Both Rubio and Jebbie patted Trump on the arm as they passed so they both knew they were there. Jebbie actually gives sort of a contemptuous facial expression as he passes them.
When the moderators realized Carson and Trump were not on stage, they invited both of them to come on up, but Trump allowed Carson to go before him and get his applause. Then Trump came up to the stage.
Kasich was entirely forgotten about by the way until it became evident to all there was an empty podium. It was definitely amateur hour and only Trump had an unscripted and natural reaction to it.
Not only did Trump show class and an awareness of what was going on, the ABC announcers showed their unawareness and lack of attention when they announced Kasich.
They said, “Lastly, Gov. John Kasich...” when the stage clearly showed two empty microphone stands...
Justice Kennedy's abuse of eminent domain still hangs over the Kelso decision by the Supreme Court and clouds understanding of how ED works. Trump will explain how ED is necessary for the Keystone Pipeline if there is to be a KS pipeline.
I hear The Tee Dee Ess is a lot like the Zika virus - only it turns the infected sufferer into a pinhead...
Where is the video of DJT dropping the F-bomb at a rally attended by women & kids?
————————————————————————————— What???? Women heard the F word??????
Carson was acting like an idiot. There was a guy behind him that kept telling him to go on stage because he had already been introduced. Carson just stood there. ....Trump was just standing next to him while waiting for his own name to be called and probably told Carson to walk out with him.
WOW
Oh SNL last night had a wonderful time punching Carson. Disgraceful.
Something like this....
>>”That was a classless comment.
Yes it was. And he followed it with the “like a child molester” comment.
St Trump?
What part of the drivel you decided to post in any way negates the instantaneous reaction of Trump vs the other wannabees who were behind Dr. Carson in line?
"S'cuse me Donald, they called MY name, I gotta go!"
“In church, they call such a deed âgrace.â”
Yes and its sad that out of all those candidates Trump was the only one who gave a chit.
