Ben Carson said late Saturday that Sen. Ted Cruz of Texas approached him during an off-camera break at ABCâs Republican debate to apologize for his campaignâs conduct during the Iowa caucuses and requested a one-on-one meeting with him.
âHe said heâs sorry that this happened and he wants to sit down and talk,â Carson said in an interview with The Washington Post. âHe wants to discuss the whole thing and clear the air.â
In the interview, Carson said pointedly that if the meeting with Cruz is scheduled, that does not mean the the senator will be absolved.
âThe evidence is there,â he said, citing voice-mails that his campaign has released of Cruz allies telling caucus-goers that Carson was likely to suspend his bid. âTapes, written communications, itâs all out there. People have to decide whether this kind of behavior is acceptable to them.â

I was just saying you consider them fair and impartial and I don’t.
I’m sure you don’t consider me fair and impartial. Sorry if I hurt your feelings. I just disagree with you regarding CNN being my standard for determining the truth of any situation.
-— He has handled this whole situation horribly. -—
By being gracious? I don’t see how that hurts him.
There is one steadfast conservative in this race and it is Ted Cruz
Gee, you can’t seem to make up your mind who’s naughty or nice.
The good news is soon the decision will be made for you.
True enough I never know where you are going LOL :)
Don’t be pissed but we just don’t see the world the same way.
Oh no. I appreciate you keeping me in check. Sometimes you are right. :-) And I do learn from it. I just get really nervous around primary time.
Primarys are just a sound check
Ted won Yuuuge and now all we hear is the howl and whining
Buzz and Howl under the influence of heat
Should I repeat that mantra in a chant?
I get that you believe that, and I expect that is why you are blaming the person that the one steadfast conservative victimized in Iowa.
In fact, it’s crystal clear.
Cruz - too little too late....
No one as smart as Cruz would believe Carson would drop out of a race a few minutes before the voting started.
Tidying up my my tagline
No “pwoof” needed as Lanny Davis would say, only the “appearance of impropriety,” and that is very clearly building up like a residue on Ted.
One instance won’t sink him, but three, four, five? It does add up. Same way Carson’s voters abandoned him, a few at a time.
carson is agoner
What does the UCMJ say?
“penetration ever so slight is sufficient to commit the offense”
I’ll take my chances at captains mast
Seen a million men brought up on false charges an they all walked
Ok, you run with that if it works for you.
Trump’s quite naughty, have to be to think pelosi reid schumer are nice
Still, Carson’s a good man... one of our best in many ways.
Ah! I think I see the problem. Here is where you belong.
He is a good man, but beating this non-story to death does nobody an favors. BEN is the one who chose the worst moment to give a very vague announcement, that he is skipping events in SC and NH to go home “for clothes”, at the outset of the first voting in a very long campaign, when he is not topping 9 pct n any of the opening states. It as not unreasonable for anyone hearing that announcement, at that time, to assume that it meant the end for the Good Doctor’s campaign. He isn’t a politician, he apparently can’t hack the heavy schedule, he isn’t polling well, “for clothes” is a ridiculous and vapid excuse, and telling it to CNN during, not after the voting, shows incredibly poor managerial skills at the very least. Blaming the subsequent loss on those who shared hat you just said is even worse.
