The biggest story this election season is not Donald Trump or the fortunes of the two winners in Iowa, the unattractive tag team of Ted Cruz and Hillary Clinton. For all their attempts to seem current and contemporary, these candidates - and Trump as well - represent older, more established elements in American life, such as evangelicals, nativists and, in Hillary's case, the ranks of middle-age women, seniors and public-sector unions.
The biggest and most important development has been the massive support among the new generation of voters for Vermont Sen. Bernie Sanders and his open embrace of socialism.
The new generation's lurch toward socialism would have been unimaginable at any previous moment in the past half century.
Unless capitalism or its crony offshoots can create a credible future for the young, there's little reason to expect that this generation will abandon their determination to change the system that, for all its faults, has created more prosperity over time for more people than any other.

That why the role model of a successful businessman who knows what's needed to things around for job creation and business opportunities has the best message to counter that.
These idiots are immersed in SOCIAL Media, so when they hear “Socialism”, they think it’s cool.
Why would this be any surprise? After all, our educational and entertainment entities have been pure propaganda for over 40 years in support of what we see today...SOCIALISM.
We have demasculinized men, masculinized women, embraced homosexuals, transvestites and gender changers, placed the blame for all of the world’s ills on the white race, freed women from raising children, destroyed morals and virtues, and too many others to mention.
It’s the culmination of the “perfect storm” that has brought us the millennial generation...the generation that will take down the America we once knew.
Alternate headline: “Millennials heed the siren call of postmodern cultural totalitarianism”
For Socialism to work, Human Nature has to be destroyed and supplanted with robotic obedience, else the lack of incentive in toiling to stay the same while enabling parasites to live at the same level as the workers will crush the spirit of those who produce.
College students were vehement supports of the German Workers Socialist Party and were in fact the first book burners for the nazis.
this is more tho I think what Muslim Hussein’s “transform America” was: make America safe for socialism.
Obama’s ruination of the economy (largely seen in the lack of good jobs, even for the educated), for which capitalism takes the rap,is a major driving force in the Millenials’ embrace of socialism.

Let Milton Friedman explain to the little mush-filled skulls what the difference between socialism and capitalism is.

“We will awake to ... socialism ... and ... spend our sunset years telling our children ... what it once was like in America when men were free.” Ronald Reagan
“For Socialism to work, Human Nature has to be destroyed and supplanted with robotic obedience”
Kind of like what Kirk and Spock saw on planet Beta III with Landru (in the Star Trek TOS episode “Return of the Archons”).
That’s right; they are too young to appreciate the failures of socialism (though Venezuela should sound a warning), but they are quite sure the status quo (which already incorporates socialism, but isn’t publicly revealed as such) isn’t working.
Good article.
Exactly - a system put in place with "benevolent intents of a peaceful society" and which is so rigidly interpreted as to stifle independence and creativity.
That is why Red China (where “robots” have begun terminating themselves in growing numbers) is the envy of the Western overlords. They have suppressed human nature, and rule their drones with an iron fist; they don’t have to contend with Free Republic or The Drudge Report, and the leaders in the West (especially BJ Clinton) long for that freedom to dominate their populations.
unless capitalism or its crony offshoots can create a credible future for the young.
The young have been indoctrinated into believing they dont have to work and the gov will share with them the wealth of the evil capitalists.
Socialism is the default political stance. American politics has to be learned. Conservatism has to be cultured in a person.
These millenials are woe-fully uninformed and maybe inculcated to the liberal doctrine of big government.
