Ted Cruz once again proves himself presidential
American Thinker ^ | February 7, 2016 | Lloyd Marcus

As the New Hampshire primary fast approaches, I wish to remind voters that our next commander-in-chief must be of the highest character, cut from the rare cloth of our founders.

Sometimes God gives us great gifts in ugly packages. Recent attacks on Ted Cruz from both the Trump and Dr. Carson campaigns gifted Cruz an opportunity to show his character and presidential instincts.

Hard when someone actually gives reasons and means for his stand. Unusual and has to be vetted. Much easier to take someone at his word when it is “I’m going to change things” because then you can fill in the blanks yourself and be in dream land.

Your question implies that Cruz’s relationship with Jesus is dependent on his success in NH. Therefore implying that if Cruz should lose then he is a phony. So you are using “Jesus being or not being” with Cruz as a political tool to bash Cruz.

“I thought he was the real deal.”

The only real deal lived 2000 years ago. Cruz may not be the real deal, but who else is there that one can trust more to hold to his beliefs ?

Norwegianpinesavage reminded you that McCain was born in Panama. By your standards Goldwater also wouldn’t have been eligible to run for president.

“I’m a Trump guy but Ted NAILED it on illegals tonight. I now have a good problem. Two candidates who are hard right on illegals!”

Agreed! The ABC crew tried to goad them into a mud fight with the first question, but they both did not take the bait...it seemed they sat back for the most part and let the governors eviscerate Kid Rubio...strategery!

If Cruz does not win NH, does that mean Jesus stayed in Iowa?

It means that NH is very liberal and that it will vote dem this fall. Like the rest of NE.

I initially was very positive about Cruz, but listening to him avoid answering question, redirecting to a more comfortable vein, I unfortunately see a politician, not a statesman.

You are using the good bandwidth at FR to insult the front runner for President of the United States....
....and calling it freedom of speech.

In other words, you are in JR’s home using his bandwidth and mouthing insults to someone who he gives kudos to.

But I guess that doesn’t bother you.

I was born in Germany, I have known for most of my life I am not a natural born US citizen. I learned it back in school when the Constitution was taught. To be a natural born US citizen requires two US citizen parents birthing their child on US soil.
And, of course, your social studies teacher is the ultimate authority on the Constitution and the Law. /sarc

I remember believing the same thing, based on my public school education in the 1970s. But both the Constitution and the law disagrees with it.

Here is the relevant law:

https://www.law.cornell.edu/uscode/text/8/1401

See clause "g". That states that Ted Cruz is a Citizen at birth.

The Constitution only recognizes two types of citizens: "Natural Born" and "Naturalized". If you're a Citizen at birth, you are, by definition "National Born". There is no third category.

And, let's not forget that Trump originally had his lawyers look into Cruz' NBC status, and they agreed that he was an NBC. And let's not forget that Trump admitted in one of the debates that the only reason he was now trying to make it an issue was because Cruz was gaining on him in the polls.

My point is, that I do not feel that Cruz’s apology was sincere. His camp did not start the rumor, but they jumped all over it.

I understand that all is fair in love and war. There is a cold side of me that respects his organization for not letting an opportunity go to waste. I am also not a kid that thinks life is fair.

I simply believe this type of “dirty trick” is beneath a Presidential candidate.

You and I disagree, and that’s cool. The sun came up this morning and it’s another day. Carson did nothing to help himself last night. It’s over for Gentle Ben. Time to move on.

Worthless. Illinois does not decide who is a NBC. If Illinois deemed ownership of guns illegal would that apply?

I’m with you, Jukeman. From what I’ve seen from the others so far I have no doubt that Cruz would put America first. He obviously loves this country and our Constitution.

Plus, he stands strong for the 2nd Amendment and fights for our right to own firearms.

I stand with Cruz.

I started out liking none of them and the more I hear Cruz the better I like him. SNL ripped Cruz in their opening skit, are you letting the libs form your opinions?

The revival has already begun, Jeremiah 6:13-19. Have you been watching what is preached out of the majority of churches these days. Churches push for illegals as much as the politicians... And they in majority did not blink over making gay marriage a right. All of our cornerstones of a civil society, political, economic, education, and yes, religious have been corrupted. What did Christ warn Matthew 24; Mark 13; and Luke 21? There is no revival of repentance foretold.

Just as the principle of conservatism is personal, individual responsibility, that is as close to a Godly revival that Christ foretold.

“His father fought along side Castro”

Yes, before Castro came into power. He fell for the “Make Cuba great again!”

He left Cuba and then came back for a visit to see how Castro was doing....he was horrified and left. He never went back.

I’m in favor of completely abolishing Social Security. FDR knew how to play the masses.

Yes, and I voted for the louse lord McCain and I told myself I was voting for Sarah. I do not know if I can do it again. I do not see how I can ask God to protect US from US if I become part of the problem. There is a reason we got Obama, and no republican majority will stop funding his destruction of this nation. They despise the teaparty more than they do liberalism.
