Ted Cruz once again proves himself presidential
American Thinker ^ | February 7, 2016 | Lloyd Marcus

As the New Hampshire primary fast approaches, I wish to remind voters that our next commander-in-chief must be of the highest character, cut from the rare cloth of our founders.

Sometimes God gives us great gifts in ugly packages. Recent attacks on Ted Cruz from both the Trump and Dr. Carson campaigns gifted Cruz an opportunity to show his character and presidential instincts.

Who are you to judge the veracity of Cruz's Christianity? You condemn him for professing his Christian beliefs in public but hem and haw when it comes to Trump's obvious attempts to do the same. Democrats are the only ones who can claim to be Christian while campaigning in church. Republican Christians must campaign outside of church so professing their faith outside of church should be welcomed and accepted. But you don't and you tap dance around your hypocrisy when called on it.

Doubting a man's Christianity, and then using it to smear him, is addressed many times in the bible. Your double standard is clear and so is your self-condemnation.

” that Rubio looked foolish and Christie looked presidential.”

Christie did sound good; but he’s not he guy we want.

He made Rubio look small. Their exchanges got quite personal; maybe they should have gone at it with boxing gloves?!

Who? If you have any familiarity at all with the fundamental constitutional law as it has developed in this country since its founding (and you apparently do not) then you would know that in Marbury v. Madison it was decided that it is the Supreme Court that has the authority to decide the the proper interpretation of the Constitution and the laws (Opinion per Marshall, J.). The evident fact is, as known by those who have actually studied the matter in a knowledgeable way, rather than engaging in such nonsense as calling people "loony," that the Supreme Court has never decided what the presidential eligibility phrase in Article II means by "natural born citizen."

It is evident that you have never had to argue before a court on such matters as the meaning of phrasing in the Constitution. If you had you would know that your arguments have absolutely no validity.

Instead of being able to point to any actual evidence of constitutional law you betray your lack of knowledge, including calling people "loony" who won't buy your invalid arguments. Picture standing before the Supreme Court and arguing that the opponent taking the view you do not agree with is "loony," or a "nut job."

The point is; it is what it ( now for our elders)
Our elders had money taken from them for SS.
They are just barely scraping by
I would never vote for anyone who would want to cut it.

Christie is not my guy but he is a good candidate. I thought he might have done a little better in Iowa.

And you want to keep letting them do that?
5-4 and 6-3 liberal positions aren’t good enough for you?
You want 9-0 progressive decisions; is that it?

When you ask what is the big deal about the Supreme Court then there is nothing left to say.

Because Christian Cruz did not show up in NH. He showed up in NH playing his I am the smartest lawyer routine. He has data mined what he needs to present. Evangelical Iowa Cruz does not play well in NH. If Jesus is really promoting Cruz then his stick should not change with the political winds.

Overwhelming precedent or not, Cruz is winning 1-0 for now.
Let me know when a court rules against him being a natural born citizen.

You have to wonder why Trump would consider Cruz for VP if he considers Cruz to be ineligible for the presidency.

Unless he doesn't.

Trump admitted in the debate that he started the “not a NBC” smear campaign specifically because he though Cruz was catching up to him in the polls.

Cruz is solid. Thing’s got a little heated on here last couple weeks but he convinced me on illegals last night. I like Ted a lot and he’d be a fine prez.

How strange that Carson is sidling up to Trump now.

A few months ago, when Donald Trump referred to Carson as pathological and compared him to a child molester, Carson had nothing to say. He was completely impotent. And in fact, his numbers tanked shortly thereafter.

Apparently, Carson is pretty sure that Cruz will neither hit him nor say mean things about him.

You are exactly right about Cruz.

The only problem is that there are so many people on FR who have given their hearts and souls to Donald Trump.

I don’t get it, but that’s the way they feel.

They have no compunction about lying about Ted Cruz if they think it will boost their candidate.

Frankly, I find it disquieting and scary.

Excuse me, but I would not reply to Just My Thoughts. She or he is the designated Trump troll today, crawling onto any thread that seems to be favorable to Ted Cruz like a roach, leaving dissent and roach tracks wherever she goes.

She actually claims to be religious. A bad idea if you are a mean liar.

I said several weeks ago that I thought if Trump got the nomination, he would pick Rubio.

That may not be the case since Rubio suffered that beating last night.

But I don’t trust Trump to pick someone based on principles at all. Just who he thinks would help him win.

It really is scary. Trump would be a disaster in the general election. He has absolutely no depth on any subject, is emotionally immature and mentally unstable. We might as well just hand the White to the Dems.

strange that Carson is sidling up to Trump now.

When did that happen?

I saw Trump graciously sharing an awkward moment with a competitor...that's all.

Trump showed he was a class act before the debate started, when he stood with Carson offstage while the other candidates passed them by.

How does that prove Trump is a class act. Maybe that proves Carson is a class act and Trump is a follower.

Boy you Trumpanzees only think in one direction don't yawl?

Amazing, simply amazing.....Trump could shoot people on Main Street and there could be film of it and yawl would swear it was not him
