Facebook: all in favor of freedom of speech! (Except criticism of Islam and amnesty.) The watchdog Gatestone Institute notes:
It was only a few weeks ago that Facebook was forced to back down when caught permitting anti-Israel postings, but censoring equivalent anti-Palestinian postings.
Now one of the most sinister stories of the past year was hardly even reported. In September, German Chancellor Angela Merkel met Mark Zuckerberg of Facebook at a UN development summit in New York. As they sat down, Chancellor Merkel's microphone, still on, recorded Merkel asking Zuckerberg what could be done to stop anti-immigration postings being written on Facebook. She asked if it was something he was working on, and he assured her it was.

I don’t trust Facebook or its founder but I do like Facebook.
It’s great for so many people. Older people can keep in touch with relatives and friends from far away.
I have found so many people from my past and caught up with them. If one stays away from politics on Facebook, it’s fun.
I’ve moved far from everyone I knew and Facebook is great for me.
I have a few friends that keep ending up in Facebook jail because they keep posting stuff on Islam. They are kicked off of Facebook for a month or so because they post the truth about radical islam.
They would leave Facebook but why give them the victory.

Our son has somewhere between 400 and 600 “friends.” No idea how people accumulate that many. We have a page for family and acquaintances who don’t do much email and we don’t see much, if at all. A few weeks ago I actually got unfriended by a distant relative (rabid liberal). We got a real chuckle and her sister in law (conservative) basically told me that they’ve been trying to get rid of her for years.
I referred to the fact that "a muslim slime ball" had been identified as the shooter.
Last month, Facebook removed the posting and issued a warning to me, saying that my posting was "of a racist origin, intended solely to bring discredit upon the Muslim culture" (really, that's what they said) and went on to cite their stupid guidelines, etc.
Funny as hell.
I once maintained 21 faux id's on Facebook (I know, I know...get a life, but these dark winter days and nights are ideal for those kinds of nefarious activity), but it got to where I was overlapping, forgetting which was which and my DU identity was taking up too much time, also.
So, now, I've tried to kill all the FB id's but one, and I'll be darned if they don't email me constantly and remind me of all the crap I've missed from "friends".
