Chopin: Scherzo in E, Op. 54The French poet of the piano wrote four scherzi over his lifetime, and this was his last. As a good third-rate pianist in my youth, I had problems with the first three pieces, but I was able to acquit myself with honor on the fourth piece. This is the legendary Arthur Rubinstein's recording from 1965.

Evening FRiend!
I see from your homepage that your from Georgia.
I'm a guy from the Seattle area but some of my best times EVER was when I was stationed at Fort Gordon, Ga for 6 months back in 1969-70.
What a beautiful area. And lovely southern Belles too!
I remember this song coming out in January of 1970 while stationed there and it always reminds me of my wonderful time there.

I was at Ft. Gordon at about that same time.
Did they have the full-scale mock-up vietnamese village when you were there?

Haydn: Trio for Piano, Violin and Cello in G, Hob. XV/25At the age of nine, I played a piano reduction of this trio's finale, which is not all that difficult if you can handle a lot of fast 16th notes. This is the famous "Gypsy Rondo," and it's a lot of fun.

Rachmaninov: Suite #1 for 2 Pianos, Op. 5The finale is the sound of the bells of Moscow's Russian Orthodox cathedrals on Easter Morning.
More good stuff coming up tomorrow night. Off to see "Sleepy Hollow," one of my guilty pleasures.

I was at the signal school at the time, 35K, avionics mechanic training before Vietnam.
I don't remember the Vietnamese village though.
I remember we were too young to drink in Augusta so often we would drive to Aikens, SC to drink/buy beer/liquor, LOL. Although I never went, Ruby's Wh*** house was pretty famous down there.
