Sen. Mike Lee doesn't like it when GOP presidential candidate Donald Trump claims that Texas Sen. Ted Cruz has no friends in the Senate. "It makes me mad when Trump says that," Lee told the Washington Examiner this week. "Ted Cruz is my friend, so if Mr. Trump or anyone else is saying Ted Cruz doesn't have any friends in the Senate, I can say unequivocally, that is not true. I am his friend and I don't regard myself as alone in that either."
Lee in 2010 became the first Tea Party candidate to upset an incumbent GOP senator.
Trump has spent weeks hitting Cruz for failing to garner the endorsement of any fellow senators, but Lee said he has only remained on the sidelines because some of his "close friends" are running for president, such as Kentucky Sen. Rand Paul and Florida Sen. Marco Rubio.
Paul's departure from the race simplifies the problem for Lee, but only a little. "If either Ted or Marco were the only one of my friends in there, I'd endorse either one," he said. "If it came down to a two-person race, say, between Cruz and Trump or Rubio and Trump, then it's an easy decision to make."
Ted was going to have a party, but his friend left town.
This can’t be. Everyone hates Ted:)
He had 51,666 friends in Iowa last Monday.
Lee: The best way to show your friendship is to endorse him.
"Wyatt Earp is my friend."
Mike Lee sponsored the Sheldon Adelson gambling ban. I suspect his support is more principled than other issues Ive seen Senators band around.
There was also a thread on here with 100 or 200 posts about Mike Lee saying House Republicans are going to do piece meal immigration.
Obviously Mike Lee is a liar and a miserable human being!

Sen. Mike Lee said Monday that most House Republicans do in fact want some form of immigration reform passed â just not the all-encompassing legislation approved by the Senate last year.
Not all were friends, there were folks directed to the wrong house.
Behold the power of the media!
You don't see that every day.
Rand Paul’s more conservative than Jeff Sessions or David Vitter?
Cruz/Lee would be a good ticket.
Ok Cruz has 1 friend and a good one. If He had behaved like Mike he would not have half the problems he has now. So why doesn’t Mike endorse him. Hmmm
As night follows day, he'll come after Sen. Lee now that Lee has come to Cruz' defense. It's just a question of which invectives he'll hurl at him. Will he insult his religion, his looks, his IQ -- all of the above? Will we need to bleep his insults in case there are kids or decent people in the room? Some things are knowable; others we can only wait and see.
I would love it but then we would have two less great senators.
While we’re fantasizing, how about Sessions/Cruz or Sessions/Lee?
Or Lee/Sessions.
