A new NBC/Marist poll finds Donald Trump with a 13-point lead in New Hampshire, down 6 points from the middle of January. With the state voting Tuesday, Trump has 30 percent support, followed by Sen. Marco Rubio (R-FL) with 17 percent and Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX)with 15 percent.
Trump’s support is unchanged from two earlier NBC polls of the Granite State, going back to the beginning of January. Trump’s lead has shrunk as both Rubio and Cruz have gained support in the past two weeks.
Rubio has gained 6 points since mid-January, while Cruz has gone up 3 points. Rubio’s support is still fluid, however, as 13 percent of his supporters say they could still change their mind. Only 6 percent of Trump and Cruz supporters say they might change their mind.
-snip-
Trump leads among “moderates” and “somewhat conservative” voters, who together make-up 60 percent of the Republican electorate. Cruz leads among “very conservative” voters by 22 points. These voters, however, make up just 20 percent of the total.
Trump’s lead is strongest among male voters, voters under 30, those earning less than $50,000 a year and those with a high school education or less. These are among the toughest voters to turn out in an election. Getting them to the polls will be a high priority for the Trump campaign.
The good news for Trump in the poll is that his support is very solid at 30 percent. Almost 80 percent of his supporters say they are definitely voting for him. The bad news, though, is he seems to have little opportunity to grow his support.
Trump is the second choice for only 10 percent of voters, far less than either Rubio or Cruz. In fact, when first and second choices are combined, the race between Trump and Rubio is essentially tied.

>>Now I will not vote for Trump.<<
Another vote for Hillary or the other socialist. Smart.
And of course, the acerbic oppositional tactless Ted Cruz will get so much done in Washington! FYI, even Ronald Reagan made deals with the Democrats. As I’ve said before, half a loaf is better than none, and if you insist on electing Ted Cruz, that is exactly what you will get done, nothing!
bump
Curious if Trumps lack of a ground game will kill him in NH. If he loses NH he is finished.
Rubio will consolidate the GOPe voters This will be a 3 man race after NH. The rest are done.
I am surprised Cruz has gone up in NH it is a very liberal state now it is Mass’s bedroom
Make America Malleable Again!
He's so far ahead in NH it won't matter. If Cruz's GOTV efforts bump him up an extra ten points... he still loses by ten points. Cruz actually has no chance of doing that, there's almost no evangelical base to work with in NH.
Since IA, there have been 5 NH polls and 2 national polls that have shown Trump either static or falling, and shown Cruz and Rubio gaining...
“What I want to know is why Trump is spending all his time attacking Cruz and letting amnesty Rubio skate...”
It could be personal. Just about everything with Trump is. If the North Korean dictator praises Trump, Trump praises the dictator.
But I also suspect Trump remains a democrat at heart, and is more comfortable with the view of Rubio than the views of Cruz. Rubio is also less confrontational (or at least more subtle about it) than Cruz, so it may not be provoking the “I Must Win” reaction in Trump.
It will be interesting to see how it all plays out. I think the media would LOVE to leave NH saying, “This is a 3-man race between The NYC Psycho, The Texas Extremist and the Florida Good Guy”...
“As I’ve said before, half a loaf is better than none”
That is the “Vote for Mitt!” argument. Or McCain. Or Dole, if you go back far enough.
As opposed to what?
You give Trump a majority in both houses, and I guarantee you there will be no deal making.
No 2. This will be the first time a president submits a budget that will be balanced and lean.
No 3 I look for him to close down these goofy depts. and
Last tax reduction.
Did you see where Obama wants to tax $10 on oil?
Trump supporters have been trying to point this out on FR; winning the strict conservative vote is not enough to win the general; and winning the general is what must happen this time or we are finished.
The Zero admin has passed so many disastrous foreign agreements that the USA is toast unless a reformer who is not financially beholden to special interests gets in who can renegotiate those trade agreements and treaties, among them the Iran deal and the TPP.
And what effect Trump’s trumpertantrums have played. It will be interesting to see if New Hampshire prefers a petulant reality TV star who throws over the top temper tantrums on Twitter over a consistent conservative.
He’ll just say what ever it takes to get his way. That’s what we need in a president; someone who’s malleable.
The “tantrums” as you refer to them as, have successfully blunted any bounce from Cruz’s 1-delegate “victory” in IA.
The media is doing it’s best to trash Trump and help Rubio. CBS this morning, with 6 Trump rallies to choose from hours of presentations chose a 10 second clip with him swearing - it’s why I support Trump, he calls the vile media what they are, vile.
‘Oh noes.... he said the F-word! I’m so offended! I need to get to my safe space before I soil myself!!’
We’ll see. Polls are not actual votes. I know Trump thinks they are, but you’re smarter than he is.
There was a story where one of his supporters literally thought they had voted for him because they showed up for a rally.
We know that Trump thinks he can shoot people on 5th Ave* and not lose any votes, but it’s not clear what he really means because he thinks votes and poll numbers are the same thing.
*Judging by his historical treatment of disabled vets on 5th Ave, it’s interesting to wonder who he had in mind when he made that statement.
“Do we allow Fifth Avenue, one of the world’s finest and most luxurious shopping districts, to be turned into an outdoor flea market, clogging and seriously downgrading the area?”
“Whether they are veterans or not, they [the vendors] should not be allowed to sell on this most important and prestigious shopping street,” Trump declared
I see Trumpy is offering to have Cruz as his Vice President. Talk about malleable. I guess the “he’s a Canadian” crap is over. Now, the malleable man is on to new cant to fool his cult members.
