An attorney for an anti-abortion activist said Thursday that his client does not plan to accept a proposed plea deal for charges related to making undercover Planned Parenthood videos.
Terry Yates, the attorney for David Daleiden, who faces a felony and a misdemeanor charge, said he is prepared to head to trial if he can't quash the indictment and isn't interested in a probation offer that would keep Daleiden out of prison.
Daleiden surrendered to authorities Thursday, posted $3,000 bond and made two court appearances. "I'm very grateful for all the support from the public," he said afterward.
Sandra Merritt, another activist also charged in connection with the videos, turned herself in Wednesday. Both were indicted on a charge of tampering with a governmental record, a felony punishable by up to 20 years in prison. Daleiden also was indicted on a misdemeanor count related to purchasing human organs that carries up to a year in prison. ...

Sounds like Terry is ready to go into full Kim Davis In Jail mode if need be. PP was likely hoping he would consider himself lucky only to get probation, shut up and disappear.
Good for Terry, good for the unborn.

Daleiden also was indicted on a misdemeanor count related to purchasing human organs that carries up to a year in prison If the subjects of the video are not also indicted, then there is no standing for the charges.

Well it could be a lesson in the legalities of keeping your hands clean if you aren’t Caesar.
He must have done a “baby parts” purchase. I couldn’t do this even if someone proposed it.
Lots of folks want to prate in various manners on this matter.
Okay, we now know that wicked witches and warlocks are, indeed, wicked. Now what? How does that begin to comfort a single unplanned parent?

Turning states evidence? There are ways for wickedness to be wicked here.
I think we’re missing the bigger opportunity, which existed even before this scandal. Gospel ministry 101.

Are we sure what thing might be discovered?
It’s like the unfair attention on Ted Cruz vs. Donald Trump. If you visibly represent Christ you have a higher profile and higher expected bar.
Does it look good for a Christian to walk in and propose buying baby parts? The wicked will have a field day. People, in spite of themselves, expect some people to be better than wicked people. Let’s not give wicked people an excuse to deem gospel a common thing.

Turning states evidence? That would work only if the subject and the video's author were in an actual agreement. Since the vid is a non-governmental 'sting' the charge of selling body parts would fall only on the subject of the vid.
There are ways for wickedness to be wicked here.
I hear that. Plenty of wicked. It is the exposing of such wickedness that seems to be the reason for this malicious prosecution.

a single unplanned parent
I would take issue that there is an inherent with being an "unplanned parent".
There was time, not so many years ago, that most children were not explicitly planned, and it was not always a bad things. Indeed, the "planned" child often doesn't turn out "as planned".
Pro-lifers are taking on numerous fronts simultaneously. There is already a large network of crisis pregnancy centers that the abortion industry wants to shut down. These centers not only provide options for mothers who might be considering abortion, but for any mother who needs help.
The government, media and leftists lie about the abortion industry and the abortion promoters, and someone does something to expose the lies and the dirty money behind much of it, and it isn't enough.

I have seen numerous lawsuits in the past. In the cases that I have seen, the abortion provider tends to back off at discovery, because these organizations often have chicanery on the books (medicaid fraud, etc.). The cockroaches do not like when the lights are turned on.

Lol. No, publicize this whore of an organization and their for-profit harvesting of infant organs. They’ll be screaming for acquittal soon.

People are wanting discovery — they should be careful about what would be discovered. Even if Daleiden skated, he’d still be known among the pagan set as the Christian who offered to buy baby parts.
There are victories that are Pyrrhic, since this seems to be a shaming exercise, not an exercise in helping any unplanned parents.
