Rand Paul's loss looks to be Ted Cruz's gain in New Hampshire.
With polling averages in the low single digits, Kentucky Sen. Rand Paul dropped out of the presidential primary on Wednesday morning. And analysis of recent polling data suggests his libertarian-leaning supporters will move toward Cruz, the brash U.S. senator from Texas.
"Cruz has a libertarian streak as well," said Dante Scala, an associate professor of political science at University of New Hampshire. âHis big concern is to build a bridge between...

Ted Cruz is the only candidate running who is trying to put the Reagan Coalition back together so we can once again start winning elections with genuine conservatives!
Ted Cruz 2016!

Libertarian streak? His Preacher Ted Holy Roller act in Iowa seems to suggest otherwise.

“Principled” Ted isn’t. He just blew that to smithereens. That dog don’t hunt no more.

"Cruz has a libertarian streak as well," said Dante Scala, an associate professor of political science at University of New Hampshire. Yes Ted does have a libertarian streak. Favors very high immigration and any trade deal that comes along and claims it will "open foreign markets" for US products (the same line we've been sold for a few decades). (The real, pre-Trump Cruz positions)

You realize that CIA “patriot” works for Cruz and lied in a tweet he deleted??
Ted just blew his “principled” label to smithereens.

Holy Rollers don't like federal government interference in home schooling, small business, those who provide wedding services, etc.
Many of us (I am including observant Catholics), while we aren't big on weed, also aren't big on the federal War on Drugs, as it tends to leech. Most of us don't care that much about online gambling, and I am hopeful that those who do now know it was a bad tradeoff, and gave the Dems some seats in 2006.
If we are looking at Cruz, Trump, Rubio, we know that Trump is not a smaller government guy. He's not pretending to be. Rubio and Cruz, both could be, though not as much as Rand Paul. Rubio is a military interventionist, and wants to take out Assad, even if the alternative is worse and results in the exterrmination/expulsion of Christians in Syria.
Of the three, Cruz is most comaptible with the Rand Paul worldview. Cruz being a Holy Roller is not incompatible. A lot of the folks who have Gone Galt are, as well.

While the infighting in conservative ranks is somewhat entertaining, I would pose a suggestion to everyone:
Focus our energy on getting the candidates to discuss the issues (all of them, no cherry-picking)and nothing else.
Discussing the issues in a conservative manner is where we win.

Cruz came out against ethanol in Iowa. IN IOWA. And he won! So: 1. You can trust him to get rid of ethanol, and 2. He doesn’t pander.

Paul withdraws from the race just as the 'Weed State Project' triggers the flood of libertarians into soviet Red Hampshire.
What a shame.

I’m amazed that hasn’t been getting more press. Think about this...he ran against the 6 term Iowa gov saying don’t vote for Ted because Ted is against gov’t funds going to corn farmers. And Ted won by the largest vote count in history!
Guess what...ethanol should be going away if Cruz wins! Yay!

Not only did GOP voters ignore Governor Branstad’s pleas, the Governor’s own establishment ignored his plea to vote for Christie and instead followed the RNC by voting for Rubio.

YUP and that is why he is hated. The Huckster and Santorum made it abundantly clear that they are extremely envious and jealous of Cruz because he took "their" evangelicals.
Paul is upset because Cruz took the libertarians from him. So much in fact, the libertarian party may support TED in the general.
Trump is worried because Cruz is going after the Blue Collars non-partisans that is his core.
