Ted Cruz unloaded on his rival Donald Trump after the real estate mogul accused him of voter fraud over Twitter. "I wake up every day and laugh at the latest thing Donald has tweeted," said Cruz, calling Wednesdayâs outburst a "Trumpertantrum" brought on by Trump's inability to "debate the substance."
On Wednesday morning, Trump sent out a series of tweets demanding the caucus results in Iowa be nullified due to what he claimed was voter fraud perpetrated by the Cruz campaign. In particular, Trump singled out reports that the Cruz campaign told voters during the caucus Dr. Ben Carson had dropped out of the race, causing some of them to switch to Cruz.
At a press conference before a meeting with voters in Goffstown, New Hampshire, the new frontrunner in the Republican race pulled no punches. "It is no surprise that Donald is throwing yet another temper tantrum â or if you like, another Trumpertantrum," Cruz said. "It seems his reaction to everything is to throw a fit, and I understand that Donald finds it very hard to lose. But at the end of the day, the people of Iowa spoke."
"There's a reason that Donald engages in insult after insult - because he can't debate the substance," Cruz continued. "He doesn't actually want to talk about issues."
The Texas senator wasn't done. "Donald's insults get more and more hysterical the more and more upset he gets," Cruz said. "I think they're very funny. I wake up every day and laugh at the latest thing Donald has tweeted." He questioned Trump's temperament for the job of commander-in-chief, saying "we're liable to wake up one day and Donald, as president, will have nuked Denmark."
"You know, my girls are five and seven," Cruz said. "And I got tell you, Caroline and Catherine are better behaved than a presidential candidate who insults people every day." The line drew cheers and huge applause from the assembled New Hampshirites waiting to meet him.
Asked whether Cruz planned to fire the staffers accused of misleading Iowa caucus-goers, the senator demurred. "This is not a campaign that scapegoats our staffers, that holds someone out and fires them for political purposes," he told a reporter. "And I would note that the news story we passed on was true and accurate . . . is it a dirty trick to pass on your news stories?"
Might be because he's afraid he may not be able to recall what his latest position on some given issue is. And then be called out on it with video or audio. He changes his positions every couple of weeks it seems.
Can’t wait for Saturday’s debate, Cruz is going to look silly lying about his cheating. Both Carson and Trump are going to roast him.
All you have to do is listen to tom sullivan on fox.
Sullivan is putting out why this is election tampering. Some Cruz moron voter just called and got ripped to pieces.
“This isn’t election tampering”
Sullivan spelled out why it’ is election tapering and the guy would not admit it is.
Omg more Cruz voters calling in! This is hilarious!!!!
They will stand. Y their guy TO A FAULT!!!!!
Chess not checkers.
Trump is acting like a pigeon playing checkers. Knocks over the pieces, craps on the boards, and cries foul (fowl :-)) if he doesn’t get his way...
Cruz 2016.
That is desperation on your part. He made a joke that’s all.
Bring it on. Because Trump never makes good on a threat.
He’s just a blowhard and we’ve seen his likes plenty enough.
Trumpertantrum is far from insulting to Trump. He may even co-opt it and use it for himself.
My guess is lefty.
I like Trump because he seems to be very transparent, and very eager to use his negotiating skills for the good of the country.
Cruz, on the other hand, seems to be trying to appeal to low-information voters which I find disturbing.
In fact, note that although Cruz politics that he has initiated the proposal for a marriage amendment to the Constitution to the states, the proposal is evidently still in the Senates in-box since he submitted it in April 2015.
S.J.Res. 12: A joint resolution proposing an amendment to the ... ... Constitution of the United States relative to marriage.
Good lord, are to ignoring the mailer that he sent out naming voters and their neighbors and comparing their imaginary voting records?. The state of Iowa wasn’t too happy about that one. And, to Cruz supporters, sabotaging Carson is no big deal too.
Cruz appears to be a shyster in his campaign tactics. And he plays Mr. Clean.
That tells me more about a person, especially when that is coupled with the use of and the need for flattery.
That is my line.
Not a good trait for a president.
“and youâre telling me a candidate who is unwilling to take it and instead fight to the death to take whatâs rightfully his/ours is a bad thing?”
All he’s doing is posting never ending Tweets complaining about it.
Watch out for the serpent.
Jeanyus!
Trumpbots will stand by him to the end.

Yes they will. No Doubt. They’re like the many many Sarahbots here at FR who still believe Palin is the greatest conservative since Jesus Christ.
Guess they were correct.
A cruz-fulfilling prophecy. :)
I don’t find the situation funny at all.
Cruz would have my respect if he’d treat this issue as something serious. Maybe say yeah, CNN started the ball rolling and we should have checked it out first before we ran with it. It was lousy and we won’t do it again.
I personally am glad Trump is taking this seriously. Voting is so incredibly important to me as I wasn’t born here and I appreciate the opportunity.
Cruz is sowing his own defeat and his followers don’t even see it.
He’s Pissed!
Isn’t that what your whining about?
Maybe FR can take credit for Trumpertantrum as I started using it about a week ago here!
