Sources told CNN Wednesday that Rick Santorum is dropping out of the 2016 presidential race.
"Another GOP departure: CNN has learned @RickSantorum will exit race tonight. Plans endorsement."
-- John King (@JohnKingCNN) February 3, 2016
The former Pennsylvania senator's exit comes close on the heels of Kentucky Sen. Rand Paul 's Wednesday announcement.
Interesting. Thanks for posting. Interesting times since Santorum won Iowa.
Rand probably won’t endorse anyone. But in terms of domestic and foreign policy, Cruz is the closest thing to Rand’s libertarian base still in the race. So the bulk of Rand’s people are likely to settle on him.
This is one of Ted’s strengths — he’s everybody’s second choice.
“Ted Cruz is the number one second choice of the supporters of every other candidate running”.
But not the #1 choice of a running mate for anyone running. As much as I hate to say it, that goes to little ricky ricardo rubio. The reason? He speaks Spanish and Cruz does not.
If we could only get rid of fatso now.
Maybe Trump could shoot electricity out of his fingers or something.
All kidding aside, the consolidation benefits Cruz, since he wins the one-on-ones.
Kudos to Gilmore. He has very faithful supporters.
Rand seems pretty bitter. I don’t imagine he will endorse anybody and sully his brand with their views.
Ricks establishment so of course he’ll back Trump......he didn’t stand on the Trump stage for nothing.....Huck will also because he’s still upset with Cruz for taking the votes he thought he had cornered....
Both Huck and Rick want to retain some degree of “face time” to continue enjoying their lifestyles.
He could still run as Libertarian Party candidate, right?
If he’s establishment (which I agree he is), he’s go Rubio.
heâs throwing his whole 1 percent behind somebody?
Come on. He is actually respected among conservatives.

We'll see which way they move now that "their guy" isn't there. I would assume Cruz, but this has been one of the weirdest Republican nominee seasons I've ever seen, so I wouldn't count on anything.
I’m guessing not, but he’ll probably tease the possibility for the sake of attention.
I sincerely wish him well in his future endeavors and hope whoever emerges from the GOP scrum will find a place for him in a future administration.
8 down, 9 left ââ¬â the field has essentially been cut in half.
With 9 left, do you think they will have all 9 on Saturday night? It might be interesting to see them all one last time.
Trump tweeted today he will be on Greta also. My guess is Rick will endorse Trump.
One can hope.
And, yet, Santorum barely outperformed me.
