Proverbs 16:22 Understanding is a wellspring of life unto him that hath it: but the instruction of fools is folly.

We all watch, incredulously, the daily spectacle of women being sexually abused in Europe by Islamic men...with no one helping them. Now, American women may soon be forced into worse situations on combat zones because of politically correct insanity!? What General with actual combat experience would want his daughter fighting in the trenches against Islamic savages? The proposal to force our young women by draft into the U.S. military is merely the latest betrayal of our nation by its leadership [Fundamental Transformation]. However, should we be surprised? If our leadership will not defend the rights of its most vulnerable children (in the womb), why should we expect them to defend our daughters, wives, and mothers? The leftists always cite Israel as their shining example of men and women, side by side, fighting the enemy in combat. It is true that Israel is the only nation with real-world experience putting women in combat. What did that experience teach Israel? It taught them that they should never put their women in combat! Hence, they have been excluded from combat units since 1950. Thomas Clough, of Weird Republic (www.weirdrepublic.com) dismantles the left's Israel argument in his article, "The Case Against Women in Combat". In the article he points out the following...

The first lesson is that men could be taught to kill strangers, but they would not stop caring for women. That is as it should be: civilized countries want to create soldiers, not savages. During the 1948 War of Liberation Israeli men would abandon their missions to come to the aid of women in distress, thereby endangering their missions, their units and themselves.

Lesson Two: The Israeli public was deeply distressed by maimed, disfigured and dead women soldiers. Israelis were horrified at the thought of their women in enemy captivity. In 1979, in testimony before the Military Personnel Subcommittee of the House Committee on Armed Services, Brigadier General Andrew J. Gatsis recalled that Israeli Defense Minister Moshe Dayan had told him that during the War of Liberation "we had a constant fear of what the Arabs would do if they captured them [the women]," and that the men could not stand the psychological stress” of watching women being killed or captured. He recalled that Dayan felt that women in combat units "knocked down their effectiveness."

Lesson Three: Women really are the weaker sex. It takes twice as many women to lift heavy equipment. That's twice as many targets for the enemy, twice as many mouths to feed, twice as many women to transport. It takes women longer to accomplish physically challenging tasks such as digging a foxhole or a gun emplacement. Therefore, large numbers of women in combat would be a logistical nightmare.

Lesson Four: When the Muslim opposition discovered that they were fighting women, the Arabs spontaneously chose to fight to the death. The very thought of being defeated by a band of women was so shameful to them that it made them implacable. They would not surrender to women. Every encounter became bitter and protracted. For a small country surrounded by millions of hostile neighbors, these drawn-out struggles were a formula for national ruin.

Is there still a draft? I thought we have had an all-volunteer army for many years.

Women wanted equality, this is part of the deal.

Combat duties need not be part of the deal. To put one soldier on the front line, ten are required behind him.

We need good RE's to fight a war, we don't need REMF's though.

“sexually abused in Europe by Islamic men...with no one helping them.’

But if these women had previous military training, they might not need help. Just sayin’.

It’s about time. Not for any military need, but I have long tired of having to produce my 30+ year-old Selective Service number when I apply for a Federal Job, when I applied for a Student Loan for Grad School, and even every time my Security Clearance is reviewed. . . even though I did a term in the USAF and have an Honorable Discharge. . .

. . . and the women who complain about “equality”, don’t. . .

There's another thread where this is being discussed, and I made a long post there that I won't repeat here.

Suffice it to say that the "debate" over women registering for the draft is a crock. It is an inevitable legal consequence of women being forced into combat arms MOS's despite the objection of (at least) the Marine Corps.

The reason that damn weasel Mabus won't say that he supports registering women for the draft is because he knows it will be controversial as hell. The SecNav and Administration are trying to bury the linkage between women in combat units and draft registration, and the two generals who spoke out are trying to ensure that it doesn't get buried.

Now that these generals have raised an issue that the Administration doesn't talk about it, it is time for the rest of us to get the word out, and start getting our politicians on record as to whether they support forcing women in combat units and the female draft registration that will inevitably follow.

They do and they will see a sharp rise in the pregnancy rate like never before. One in the crib, one at the breast, and one one the way. They tried to “force” women onto some ships in the Navy and this is what happened, tons of women fell pregnant.

I agree. With equal rights come equal responsibilities. If women want to vote, they should have to register with selective service.

“women should now have to register for the draft”

Note to Uncle Sam (and anyone else who thinks this is a good idea): My daughters will not register for selective service.

When your wife, sister, daughter get sent off to war, thank the radical leftist feminists for send them to their deaths. And I can guarantee you, woman combatants will be treated FAR worse by the enemy than any man fighting on a battle front.

Let’s see the rank that Obama’s daughters will enter the service. Will it be an eagle or a star?

Females had a chance to stand up and say that they didn’t want females in the Combat Arms.

The silence from females on this issue was deafening.

Females didn’t care, because they didn’t have to care. Only males have to worry about being involuntarily assigned to Combat Arms units containing females.

That’s why females care so little about the Defense Budget. They don’t see any benefit for them in an adequate Defense Budget. It is only men who can be forced to serve. Females don’t care if tanks are made out of paper mâché because they can’t be forced to ride in them.

Females had their opportunity to stand up and say that they didn’t want females in the Combat Arms, but they didn’t care enough to pay attention.

Welcome to the Infantry, ladies!
